Beautiful!
Book showed up in great shape, and the content in this book is amazing! I highly recommend it, especially if you already purchased the book for the first movie. Beautiful artwork, and a great break down of the behind the scenes work that went into making this beautiful film.

The Day the Internet Got Wrecked
★★★★☆ ArtLike other Disney artbooks published by Chronicle Books, The Art of Ralph Breaks the Internet is filled with unique concept art, initial sketches, and work-in-progress designs. However, keep in mind that this focuses on Wreck-It Ralph 2, so you won’t find much about the original characters. That said, there are plenty of fun, new Internet characters created just for this animated film. Characters like Double Dan, Spamley & Gord, and Error 404 add a lot of visual humor and personality.One-third (or even more) of the book is dedicated to the many locations created for the film, although these are less impressive, except for some of the mega-corporation buildings. Especially if you've read The Art of Wreck-It Ralph, you might remember how the creators built a real-life "Candy Land" using cookies, cakes, chocolate, ice cream cones, and candies—it’s hard for this sequel to measure up to that kind of immersive design.★★★☆☆ TextThe text layout initially grabbed my attention, with an introduction styled as a chat between the creators, artwork descriptions presented as forum discussions, and image comments formatted like social media posts with reactions. However, after finishing it over a relaxing weekend, I realized this narrative approach made the production story feel somewhat superficial. It’s like watching a polished question-and-answer interview on YouTube that you might forget within an hour. Here, style and form overshadows substance, which isn’t my preference in artbooks.★★★★☆ Book DesignThe layout, design, and format are consistent with Chronicle Books’ Disney animation series, which is good if you’re familiar with it. This book includes the typical, somewhat flimsy jacket that easily tears and crumples along the edges. The only difference is usually in the book’s thickness, as the design remains largely the same across the series.★★★★★ PriceMost books in the Disney/Pixar Chronicle series cost around $20, and this one is no exception. I found my very good, used copy for around $9 plus tax as of summer 2024. It’s a great value for the price!★★★★☆ Overall ImpressionsIf you’re a fan of the film, a collector of the series, or someone who enjoys high-quality character designs and the stories behind them, this book is a great addition to your library! Just note that if you’re looking for a full immersion into this fantastic video game universe, the first book, The Art of Wreck-It Ralph, makes a great companion piece.
