Grandpa’s Orchard Grass Bale is a Winner for Picky Bunnies
I bought Grandpa’s Orchard Grass Bale for Snickers, my rabbit, and he absolutely loves it. He’s a very picky eater and doesn’t like hay, but this orchard grass bale is the only grass he’ll eat. He prefers it way more than Oxbow or any other brand we’ve tried from pet stores. Highly recommend for any bunny with a picky palate!

One of best orchard grasses on the planet!
I've been foster caring rabbits & guinea pigs for over 20 ysr. I've been thru hell & back on the hay circuit. I did my research on this farm. This Co. Is family owned and grows their hays on their own farm. They don't. sub it out to God knows what growers, like Small Pet Select, etc. doesI order the 10lb mini bales of 2nd cutting Timothy & Orchard grass. I mixed them together in a large token. My guinea pig heard loves the balance of both mixed together. There's very little waste. At least 75% of rabbit- guinea pig diet requires a good quality hay. Less waste means they're getting proper nutrition & it helps to keep their teeth trim. When you email the farm, they always get back to you forth with. They don't use pesticides/ other sprays on there hey crops. Many hay Cos throw their hay in a box, leaving it vulnerable to rain, snow, etc while it's sitting on front doorsteps getting soaked, moldy & ruined! Not this Co! Each hay bail is carefully packaged & boxed to protect the hay from getting soaked in the rain. If you want good quality, healthy & consistent hay from a USA family farm, this is the hay you want. They take the growing of hay seriously and your fur babies will reap the rewards of the farm's good efforts. Grandpa's Best is awin-win for your for babies health & quality of life. p.s. A word of caution about hays: NEVER buy any hay- hay treats unless they are USA grown! If the company doesn't state what country the hay is grown in, then don't buy it! Always check with your USA growets to ensure they don't use sprays on their hays either, because some of them do.

Guinea pigs LOVED this hay
I have 3 guinea pigs, and while not exactly picky eaters they haven't been too thrilled with the Full Cheeks brand timothy hay I grabbed from Petsmart a couple of weeks ago. It seemed OK quality but the pigs didn't like it much. This stuff they love though, looks to be of decent quality and they devoured it while ignoring the rest of the other brand. Will probably set up autopurchase on Chewy since they ship faster.

Skeptical that it might be or contain timothy hay
I seem to be horribly allergic to Timothy hay, we switched to orchard grass and I tolerate it fine. This is the first time I've uses this brand though and i seem to be having allergy problems and feel itchy after handling it. Also smells a lot different than kaytee brand we had been using. It's more compressed and takes up less space than the other brand and my kids pigs seem to like it so if you don't have allergy issues it's great. If you do I'd stay away from this brand.

I was a bit scared to try out this hay since my bunny is quite picky, we've tried a bunch of different brands and types of hay but this one seems great and my bunny really LOVED it! nice smell, minor dust and highly recommended >:D

Don’t trust the bad reviews, try it for yourself!
So I was nervous to buy this hay after reading lots of mixed reviews, but I went with my gut and ordered the 10 LB bag of orchard grass and I’m glad I did! So my first impression was really good, despite not having my own twistie tie ... my bag came open, but oh well. Anyway, the hay smelled amazing! It looked great, it was nice and green with a few brown pieces here and there (to be expected)! So now we get to the plastic bands that keep the bale compressed...I’ve read a few reviews where they say they’re so hard to cut them off. Not true. I’m not sure what they’re using to cut them, maybe a steak knife? But I got a trusty pocket knife and with just a little pressure, just like in the video, they came right apart! Now for the part that I’ve hear so much about, the flakes ... so I ripped off a layer of hay for my Guinea pigs, (after watching the video of course because I now know what I am doing), I put the flake right into my Guinea pigs hay feeder and use my hands to fluff and pull it apart. It was SO EASY. And the best part?? The hay pieces are long! And my Guinea pigs love it!! I believe they are still sitting there eating more hay as I write this, even though I gave it to them a good half hour ago.I absolutely despised buying the BOX of hay that is sold on amazon as well. It was SO messy. Everytime I opened up the box to feed my pigs, hay was all over my carpet. And I don’t have a room big enough for me to store a garbage bag of hay like I’ve seen other people do ... plus that looks incredibly tacky. Long story short, I’m ecstatic that I found a company to make a bale of hay on Amazon because it had saved me a lot of messes and a lot of time!
