Keys worked just fine. Just bring them to a locksmith for "cutting" using an existing key. Instructions for "programming" the transponder chip built into the Keys are available online. You insert an existing key and turn the car on and off a few times with your new key and you're all set. This is different from programming the remote.

They keys do not have programmable chips. There are removable caps for adding a chip but the questions is 'what' chip. You cannot remove one from an old kay and add to this. Don't be fooled I see no practical use for these accept opening a door or continuing to carry around an old key with a chip.

Only one of the keys was programmable.

These keys are a great alternative to having to pay dealer prices for keys. I purchased two for my 03 Ranger, had them cut and programed them and they work flawlessly. Saved literally hundreds of dollars.
