HMS Authentic Warrior Katana Sword - Hand Forged 1045 Steel Full Tang Blade, Real Functional Japanese Sword with Warrior Tsuba for Collectors & Practice

If you want a functional sword at an affordable price, this Is the blade for you. This is the only sword I own from this seller, but from what I can tell, most of their swords are very well made and pretty cheap. It came sharp enough to cut paper and could even shave of some hairs, but it could have had a better edge. As far as looks go, the sword is beautiful. There is a nice finish to the blade, and the saya is a work of art (I got the crane variation). I also like the design on the tsuba and on the buttcap. The handle looks nice as well. The only complaint I have aesthetically is the habiki. For some reason, it came kinda stained and unfinished. The pros and cons taken into account, I would say that regardless of whether you are experienced or just getting into swords, you won't be disappointed.

This katana actually scared me. I had to put it back away! I can feel its balance and power. Finally I own an "actual" katana. Genuine ray skin, real clay temper hamon. Fabulously smooth keen edge. Must be hand honed to the perfect razor angle.perfectly balanced and straight. Nice saya too. Hardwood and thick black lacquered. Gleams like a light saber when reflecting light after some 3in1 oil and a polish.will definitely be respecting this blade for the superior weapon it truly is. No abuse whatsoever. This blade has a soul it seems. Makes actual katana " whiff " when proper blade handling techniques and angled strikes are used. I concentrate and can almost get that " whiff " every time when I practice my moves, which is all I will be doing with her. I tested on a few 2 liters just to see but no more. She performed nicely too. I know what this is capable of time to keep it nice. Nice friggim blade ladies n gentleman. Verrry happy. Buy one!!!

This sword I purchased in November of 2015, when I received it there was some edge rolling at the kissaki ( tip area) during shipping, when I picked it up it was a little tip heavy, but also very sturdy and rock solid. Sharp as expected, but trying to take of the tsuka ( handle) is impossible, either from glueing the handle or if it's a tight fit. I am not sure, the ito is a nice cotton wrap and held up very well from use, but I also saw some of the same ( ray skin) underneath the wrap and it was cut into strips instead of wrapping the entire tsuka core, but that's to be expected for $150, also the habaki ( brass color ) was becoming loose. Since this is a 1045 blade I don't expect it to hold an edge from abuse, I cut bamboo and branches to test the durability and it preformed decent but there was some edge rolling, I would not recommend it for branches or sticks, water bottles and tatami mats would be fine.

Great purchase. This is my first venture into any type of sword so I am a novice. But, I do know quality and feel. The delivered katana was very nice looking and feels solid. The scabbard fits well and looks good as well. The blade came slightly sharpened not dull. I need to learn how to sharpen the sword correctly. I liked the sword so much I have purchased two practice swords so that I may develop my skills in a safe manner. I would definitely recommend the purchase to others.

Excellent blade for a modern, practical weapon. Very sharp on delivery with a very wide spine. Very solid. Full tang seats firmly into the tsuka with no slop or play. The mekugi are both pretty rough with tapered ends protruding past the same, but not the ito. The habaki side of the tsuba is fairly rough with poor finish, but the tsuka side is nice. Balance could not be any better. Fit into the saya is perfect, again with no movement or play when seated, but easily places or withdrawn. Depth and pattern of the tempering marks are not uniform along the entire length of the blade, but it is obvious that this is a tempered blade and not a cheap piece of junk. Finish of both blade and saya appear perfect.

I was looking for a solid, practical sword for self defense purposes. After scouring Amazon, this is where I decided to take my chances. I am VERY pleased! This sword is definitely well made. I have no doubt it will hold up if and when I need to fully utilize it's potential. Solidly sharp edge out of the box. A little heavier than I had expected, but this is my first katana. The balance is slightly forward, but has a fantastic overall feel and great look. For the price, I couldn't be happier! I have full confidence this is capable of taking an intruders arm clean off.

This is a top quality weapon that matches up very well with swords costing many times more. The only problem was that the tsuba is so tight that it is very difficult to remove to disassemble for a proper cleaning.It was shipped quickly and arrived well packaged and protected.

I was blown away at the craftsmanship of this sword. I just gambled and nowhere near expected to find what I found with this sword. I got it for a friend for Christmas and now I want one. I will order again.
