Q: Is one of the angles 60 degrees?

It is not designed to cut actual angles. It is used to trim up the pineapple block as you add rounds. You would not be able to cut a specific angle with it.

Q: How wide are the strips used for the ruler?

Cut strips at least 1 1/4” wide. Cut 1 1/2” center square. JFYI these measurements are printed directly on the ruler. The label unfolds into a step by step illustrated instruction sheet. You will want to hold on to that. This is for the mini pineapple. There is a larger sized pineapple, strips cut 1 3/4” wide, center square cut 2 1/2” wide. The larger pineapples logs finishes to 1” wide strips. The mini ruler makes 1/2” wide finished logs. You will trim after putting on 4 sides. I enjoy my ruler a lot and am in the middle of a pineapple quilt right now.
