The kettle looks good but feels quite cheap/has a thin tin lid/sounds very loud

I go this for my mother in law because it was the one she wanted. Great kettle all in all but when she opened it, it had limescale on the bottom and scratch marks on the inside like someone had tried to clean it beforehand. For the price I paid expected new condition but she cleaned it herself and had to start using it as it was a desperate situation. Just maybe double check products before sending them out that they're maybe not a return from a customer? We've ended up buying her the whole kitchen set so it's a great addition to the kitchen.
