Q: How do you open it to fill it with water? I can't seem to get it open.

Same problem. Answer turned out to be “yes, turn it so hard you think you’re gonna break it.” Whoever packs those sealed it tight.

Q: Why didn't this bladder come with the back pack holder as is described in the photos? That's the reason I bought this product

Mine had one, it broke, but it has a hook on the opposite side of the handle.

Q: Is this bladder certified food-grade, bpa-, bps-, phthalate-free?

According to the vendor's description it is BPA free. There was no mention of BPS or phthalate that I could find. It is made of TPU material, so perhaps a search for the properties of the material will provide more information.
