The Classical Three-Section Staff Paperback – Illustrated, February 10, 2009

If you know the weapons as they are alone, this provides a unique insight to how they fight. Excellent photos, the right size to get the idea, and descriptions that help you, not confuse you.

I had this back in the 1970s as a teenager, got another copy, love this book.

I purchased this as a reference for something I am writing. The book itself is great, well-suited for my purposes. However, I bought a NEW copy, and the one I received has obviously been wet. It has water stains on the top and looks like it was crushed at some point. If I wanted a used book, I would have bought used.

Looking to learn this form one of these days

I read this one in hope of finding techniques of how to wield this famous, historical weapon but didn't find it particularly helpful. Sure, I got some advice from this, but it's not a book on teaching, or instructing you how to use it. It's more of a series of photos and steps that two warriors are taking, more or less displaying a choreographed battle between a spear and a three-sectional-staff.I am certainly fascinated by this medieval weapon and would love to be able to use one well... but I guess I shall have to consult youtube for that instead.Origins Halloween: Includes demo AudioBook

This book is written for the experienced student. It is a well written and illustrated 2 man form, three section staff vs spear. The form is rather lengthy, but it's mastery gives you skills that can easily be applied to any long or short weapon. I would highly recommend it to the advanced student.

Good informative book

Three-Section Staff by Rick Wing is detailed and concise in its presentation of the techniques presented. There are about fifty pages that describe history of the staff and its applications and then over a hundred photos that show very clearly grips; swings; and stances. A good buy for anyone who either practices or wants to learn how to swing a Three Section Staff.
