excellent price and quality, Durable and High-Quality, but Needs Extra Coats
I recently used Rust-Oleum Exterior Paint in gray for a small outdoor project, and I’m quite impressed with the results. Here’s my experience:Pros:• Durability: The paint is designed for outdoor use, and it really stands up to the elements. It’s been holding up well against rain and sun, showing no signs of fading or peeling after several weeks.• Smooth Finish: The paint goes on smoothly, and once it’s dry, it provides a solid, even coverage. It gives a clean, matte finish that looks professional.• Great Coverage: Even though I needed to apply multiple coats (especially on textured surfaces), the coverage was consistent and rich, and the gray color looks modern and sleek.• Fast Drying: The paint dries fairly quickly, which allowed me to finish my project in a reasonable amount of time without much wait in between coats.Cons:• Requires Multiple Coats: Depending on the surface, I found that I needed at least two to three coats to get a solid, even color, especially on lighter or rougher surfaces.• Slightly Thin Consistency: The paint is a bit thinner than some other exterior paints I’ve used, so I had to be careful to avoid drips and ensure a smooth finish.Overall: Rust-Oleum Exterior Paint in Gray is a solid choice for outdoor projects. It offers great durability and a nice finish, but be prepared for the need for multiple coats, especially on textured surfaces. The slight thinness of the consistency doesn’t take away from the final results, but it’s something to keep in mind. For a quality, long-lasting finish, this is a reliable option.

What You need to Know
Most of the negative reviews were dead wrong. It is thick and it dries quickly, coverage is excellent and the color matches the description. You can paintly badly with this paint as with any paint. This is what you should know about this paint.Practice on something before you paint the item needed. If you do this you will get first hand knowledge of how the paint will perform for the conditions you are painting, especially temperature.Because it dries quickly. Do no paint in the Sun; paint in the shade. Don't try to cover bare metal quickly, use thin coats. Make sure it is dry before the second coat. If it isn't dry it will be very sticky. Don't be in a rush, take as much time as needed to get a smooth coat. The smell was minimal but painting indoors can be harmful especially since it is oil base. This will stop rust, I usually take rust down to the metal. It you want a finished product sanding is necessary. It is good stuff however like most paint, you can do an absoulutely terrible job.

GLOSS WHITE....GREAT way to FRESHEN UP on the CHEAP!
EDIT: It's now MARCH 2021 and outside door still looks great! Decided to do inside. WHAT'S the first thing someone sees coming to your door? YOUR DOOR! Nothing looks better than high gloss to really make your inside and outside POP! And there was plenty left over to freshen up any outside trim or planters. Great way to start SPRING!_____________________________________________________________________EDIT: OK it's end of OCTOBER 2019 and wanted to FRESHEN up my entry before the HOLIDAYS and NOW is good time to paint my matte front door that just looks a little sad GLOSS WHITE!ONE can (the 8 oz) painted the outside of my door, thin trim around the outside entry and freshened up a planter!JUST FINISHED PAINTING the door and because it's not very warm out, taking awhile to dry, but it's been about TWO hours and is just about dry to the touch.DOOR LOOKS PHENOMENAL!!! AMAZING what a $4 and change can of paint can do! I didn't prime, I didn't even wash the door (It has a glass storm door on the other side, so not really dirty), took me about a half an hour.Cheap and easy way to freshen up a room, outside door and the GLOSS just makes it POP! It's like a mirror finish._______________UPDATE: RAINED the day after I painted outside window box and didn't affect the paint at all. Also it has been STORMING in days since, and the paint job looks perfect and new! DEFINITELY FIVE STARS!______________________________________I needed to paint a sad, dirty-looking flat white window box that is about 24 X 6 inches.I got the GLOSS WHITE to make it pop more.PROS:The GLOSS is almost a MIRROR GLOSS! Transformed a shabby, off-white, beaten up window box with what looks like a NEW finish. It looks AMAZING!Thick, not runny8 ounce can covers A LOTDried fast and still had about three quarters of the can leftGREAT price for what you get in quality and quantitySuper easy, I'm not very handy at all, didn't "prep" the wooden window box, just rinsed and dried it off to get some of the dirt off and paintedSuper fast - covers easily. I did white on a box that (had been) white and took me mere minutes to completeCONS: So far, none. It felt dry to the touch in about four hours, we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and this is outside, so we shall see. I didn't rate durability yet, as I need to see how it withstands Midwest weather.

Great paint
Great paint. Covers well and is really high gloss. The only problem is the cans come in very dented.

good paint, nice color
I bought this to thin and spray. After diluting and adding a hardener, I painted several machines with it. It worked well.

Awesome
I used Rust-Oleum Smoke Grey paint to give my camper van a fresh new look, and I’m really impressed with the results. The color came out clean, smooth, and consistent—it has a nice modern grey tone that isn’t too dark or too light, making the van look sleek without standing out too much. The paint went on evenly and covered well with just a couple of coats. It also dried quicker than I expected, which made the process a lot easier. So far, it’s holding up great against the weather and doesn’t show dirt as quickly as lighter colors do, which is a big plus for traveling. Overall, Rust-Oleum Smoke Grey gave my camper van a durable, professional-looking finish at an affordable price.
