Command Large Metal Hook, 5 lb., Brushed Nickel (FC13-BN-ES)

3M Command hooks in general are great. They're easy to place: clean the wall area with rubbing alcohol, then peel & stick on the hook. No messy and damaging drywall drilling/anchoring needed.They're relatively easy to remove: slide up the main hook portion from mounting base, then slowly pull the non-stick tab downwards until entire adhesive stretches and comes off cleanly. However, out of the 15 3M hooks I've recently removed when moving, 1/3 of the adhesives ended up snapping prematurely, requiring needle-nose pliers to remove the rest of the adhesives (same downward pull). If you're not careful, the adhesive ends up ripping off the outer white layer of the drywall, exposing a dime-sized gray sublayer (annoying, but an easy fix with  Dap 12372 CrackShot Spackling Paste 5.5-Ounce ).This particular model (Forever Classic Large) is the heftiest/sturdiest of all the 3M large hooks (actual metal, unlike other colored plastic models like  3M Command Timeless Large Plastic Hook with Metalic Brushed Nickel Finish ), and has the most useful hook shape (strong base, deep curve, no thin/sharp edges).If you're planning on using this in the bathroom or any moisture-prone area, be sure to also buy the blue  3M Command Large Water-Resistant Refill Strips, 4-Strip , which has a stronger adhesive. The regular included adhesive caused the hook to fall from the glass shower wall after a few days, but the "blue" strips have held fine for over a month now. In non-moist rooms, the regular adhesive hold up just fine.If you rent, definitely load up on these. Not only do they not cause wall damage (aside from possible spackling), you can easily take them WITH you when you move.

These hooks are the best! I live in an apartment that faces East and I can't drill holes into the walls. I used 3 hooks to hang up some black out curtains. The black out curtains were 54x86, 2 panels, weighing 4lbs total. I order those from Amazon too and just noticed the item weight/shipping weight. The cafe rod is 7/16 in diameter and adjustable for 48-86 for width and that fits perfectly in the hook. I did originally order a 7/8 cafe rod, but it was too thick for the hook so you want to ggo with anything smaller than 7/8. I got the smaller cafe curtain rod at bed bath and beyond.I used 3 just to be safe but I could have used 2 hooks. I can open and close my curtains really easily and there is not indication of unstableness. I did follow the command instructions (press for 10 seconds, remove hook, press for 30 seconds, put hook back, leave for 1 hour) before hanging my curtains so I think that also helped.

I saw other reviews of people purchasing to hang curtains which is exactly what I was looking for. We are currently apartment living and I don’t want to put any holes in the walls. So far, these hooks are holding up. The curtain rod I purchased is too big in diameter, which is my fault for not paying attention to that sort of thing, but it is still working for us. I didn’t want to add a third hook to the center of our rod, so you can see our rod does kind of sag in the center, but I was worried the 3rd hook wouldn’t look good. On the ends of the curtain rod, they look just fine when standing back, even though the rod doesn’t quite fit. We made it work!

Love these Command hooks since I really hate to make holes in the walls. Needed a sturdy hook for next to the tub to hold a bath towel, and this does the trick. It's one of the biggest Command hooks and will hold 5 lbs. Strange thing, although this was packaged in sealed plastic, there were scuff marks on the hook and the plate. I was annoyed initially but decided to put it up anyway and you really don't notice the marks. I like that I was able to get a brushed nickel finish. Would be nice if there were a few more style options. I know they are easy to remove and really don't leave any trace on the wall as I've used them before. Overall, a good solution to keep walls nail free.

I love these hooks! The come off flawlessly without damaging any of the paint. They stick on with double-sided tape, and a tab extends out the bottom. When you want to remove them, you simple pull on this tab and it stretches the double sided tape, pulling it parallel to the wall so that no paint peels. Genius design!This large hook holds a lot. I have it in my bathroom and will hang two wet towels off it without a problem.The finish on the hook is nice. The metal is nice. I like the metal better than the white plastic ones because they really don't look cheap at all.Best thing about these hooks is that you can remove them and reuse them, so if you move around a lot or are in a rental, you can easily use them at the next place you move to. I'm currently a renter and needed to put up curtains without the hassle of dealing with holes for the rods. I bought heavy blackout curtains because I'm a pale like a vampire and hate the sun. I was concerned these command hooks wouldn't hold up the weight of the curtains, but to my surprise months later they're still holding up. I haven't tried to remove them yet so I can't speak to the ability to move them easily. A bit expensive but cheaper than filling the holes and trying to match the paint on the walls.

I expected this to be plastic like the large white hooks, but painted with the brushed nickel color, and was pleasantly surprised it’s metal. It’s sturdy. It was very easy to install as are all Command products. It did come with an extra strip should it need adjusted after the initial application. We use it to hang my daughter’s sink bath flower to dry (see picture); it’s memory foam and holds a lot of water. I don’t know it’s weight when wrung out, but the hook holds it without any evidence of problem.

Adhesive does not hold even couple of hours ! Describtion on site not accurate at all , it should be holding heavy curtains and the pole but it falls a on the next day , you should not be selling something that cheap and promoting it as very reliable . Curtain has fallen with the pole and almost ruined my flowers ! Imagine if there was a kid sitting under or someone else and it falls and hit them !

El gancho es estético, muy práctico y un poco caro. Se instala con mucha facilitad.Sirve para su función, pero se ha de respetar el peso máximo que puede soportar, puesto que sino se cae.Especialmente los meses de calor atención al peso. Todo y así hemos comprado varias unidades, porque como he dicho antes es estético y práctico.Saludos

Super strong, I used 3 for hanging a fairly heavy curtain and pole in the bedroom, this was because the brickwork was almost impossible to drill and fit conventional way.Have to be careful as the pole needs to be less than 20mm diameter to fit in the hook.Been up now for 2 months, all still great, and stuck on painted plaster which wasn't the smoothest finish.Saved a right headache.

We love these hooks. They look good and have strong adhesion. We bought these to replace out others that just fell off after 8 years holding 2 dressing gowns, among other things.
