Excellent quality trimmer for a guy.
I purchased this Wahl trimmer to replace one that my wife gave me 12 years ago; the battery would no long take a charge. This new one has a number of additional attachments my old trimmer did not have. Wahl makes a very good product and that is why I bought another one. It will trim anyway on your body you want it to.

nice cordless razor for the price. Plenty of attachments to use, even nose and ear trimmer.
Wahl USA Rechargeable Lithium Ion All in One Beard Trimmer for Men with Detail and Ear & Nose Hair Trimmer Attachment – Model 9854-600BI mention the title of this razor to point out the model number. They sell several razors. My replaced razor was the older version of this model. I got this one because the light went out on my existing razor. I couldn't turn it off or on without using a screwdriver. However, this seems a good deal. No problems with the lights on the new one as they don't have any lights, charging or turned on/off. I don't mind. I can tell if it is by the slight vibration.

Great value and quality
Great value and quality. Trims hair well. Guides have no numbers. Trial and error. Holds charge long time. Oil blade after use.

Great beard, mustache, nose, ear trimmer. Not hair.
I read a lot of the reviews and that helped me make my decision. I've had this trimmer a couple of months now, and really love it. I'll start with the points I did NOT find easily in other reviewsYes, it does a great job trimming the edges of your mustache above the lip, etc. I've had all-in-one beard groomers where the trimming attachment did not cut well. Not so with this one. The first time I used it I was instantly showing a lot more lip than I had planned on. In other words, it trims mustaches better than anything I have used before. The other point I was unclear about in other reviews was the usefulness of the nose/ear trimmer attachment. I have owned 2 or 3 of those battery powered rotating types before, and always found them so-so. This trimmer attachment does a much better job than those, and is faster. Just stick it in your ear or nose and you're done in 2 seconds, whereas the rotary types make you keep doing it for a while before it seems like you're done. The noise level is not a problem at all for me - it's noisy but not objectionable in your ear, about the same or less noise level as my rotary trimmer. For beard trimming (I have a goatee that I keep fairly short), it works well but is slightly less convenient than the all-in-one beard groomers I have owned. You have to switch attachments, which is frankly very easy, though not as easy as just dialing in a 3 or 4 on one of those beard groomers. And the attachments are a bit of a pain because you have to either pick, for instance, a 2 or 3 beard trimmer, or else use the 6-position trimmer attachment. That 6-position trimmer attachment is what I use, and it's fine, though adjusting it's height requires a little more effort than it should.Battery life is outstanding, and what puts it above everything else. It lasted 2 months of frequent use on its first charge, and I expect it to last for years. Other beard groomers I have owned (both Panasonic) died after a couple of years and had to be plugged in.The attachments in general are a bit of a pain, as everyone else mentions. However, putting them on and off is really easy - not as complicated (at least to me) as others have mentioned. I keep them all in the tray on my countertop and it works fairly well. The tray gets really crowded, so I've take some of the attachments I'm never going to use and put them in a drawer. It is nice to have your oil and brush right there whenever you need them - otherwise I would not clean and oil it as often as I should:)For haircutting, I agree with everyone else. This thing is really narrow, even with the wider cutting head attached. It's about half the width of my corded Wahl trimmer, which is what I've been using to cut my hair (and does a great job). Also, the attachments are not long enough for my hair, which normally takes a 4 and a 5 attachment. Not sure if you can buy longer attachments for it or not. I think the best solution is just to spend another 30 bucks on the corded Wahl unit like I did. It's a beast, seems to actually dim the lights when you turn it on (semi-kidding here but you get the idea). For all around trimming, meaning sideburns and hairline at back of neck, it's super. The normal attachment does a great job of shaping your hair and cuts super sharp. In sum - it's outstanding for moustache/ear/nose trimming as well as shaping your beard or hair at the edges. Don't bother thinking it's going to be very good for actually cutting your hair.

Better, Cheaper Alternatives to this Wahl
I primarily use a trimmer to trim/ shape facial hair and shave my head for a stubble look. Unfortunately, within the first couple minutes I knew I'd be returning this one.I could easily overlook some of the features it lacks at the $40 price, but the main reason I am going to return is because it snags and pulls my facial hair when using the stubble guard and left hair on my neck without the guard. Even the $18 Braun cordless trimmers seemed to cut better. Although I will say these run much quieter and smoother sounding. They performed better on shaving my head, but I had to grab different trimmers to finish my facial hair and neck. Because I travel, I only want to take 1 trimmer with me and I'm afraid this one won't make the cut. The $18 trimmers also seemed to cut a little closer without the guard.I didn't use any of the other attachments that came with the trimmer. I will say that the "10 Position Adjustable Guide 1-10" that is currently pictured in the kit was NOT included. Instead a 11-20 was included that isn't mentioned. I don't know if this is a change or just a mistake. If you have longer hair, this may be a better alternative. The non-adjustable guards fit tight and it took a bit to get it to fit the first time. Seems there are pros and cons to this. They won't fall off like some of the cheap plastic clips, but it also seems to push hair clippings under the blade. The ear/nose trimmer head seems especially cheap. It did not come with a wider T head that some reviews mention. The vinyl bag it comes in is thin and secured with an elastic strap. Wouldn't recommend if giving as a gift set. (Honestly a zip lock would be more secure.) The rubber grip on the body feels fine, but collects hair and isn't waterproof. Overall build quality isn't great, but it does have solid metal head (unlike the aforementioned $18 trimmers). But similar to the cheaper models, there is no battery charge indicator to know when it needs to be charged, when charging is complete, or even if it is charging or not. I did charge it for 1 hour prior to use as the instructions indicate, but I didn't even use long enough to test battery life.Overall, these $40 Wahl trimmers were pretty mediocre. It's more like a $15-20 entry level trimmer with a few accessories. For many it may work just fine and worth the cost, but I'm going to look for an alternative.
