We love using these kinds of switches for all kinds of things around the house. Lamps up higher so you don't have to reach for the lamp but have a switch right by where you are sitting. Heat pad for my 95 year old grandma who has trouble plugging things in. Speakers for the projector so the switch can be at the distance of the screen so we don't have to roll up screen to turn speakers off and on. Chrismas lights. Lighted vanity mirror in bathroom so it is no longer plug and unplug. Fans with a difficult to reach on/off switch. Lights for the car port so can be turned on by the door rather than walking out and pulling a string. The added convenience is only limited by what you can think of.Also the 3 prong rather than 2 prong is really nice. We used switches like these a lot in the past and it had been an issue before we bought these. The switch being lit when on was also of a nice added value when attached to something that didn't produce light when on such as the speakers and heat pad. You turn the lights out to leave, see the lit switch, and know to come back and turn off for various energy or safety reasons.

Works as advertised.

Our garage door opener plugs into an outlet on the 10' ceiling of our garage. When there is a power surge the garage door is prone to open. This is inconvenient if we are out of town as it then becomes a security issue. So we added a short extension cord and then added this "port power adapter with lighted on/off switch" between the extension cord and the garage door opener cord. It hangs where we can easily reach it and when we go out of town we can turn the garage door opener off without having to unplug it at the ceiling outlet. We like that the red light confirms that the power is off or on.

It’s very convenient to use.

I read a few negative reviews about these but decided to take a chance since they were so inexpensive. All three were in good condition and they work exactly like a switch should. I bought them primarily for the battery charger for my e-bike which shouldn't be powered when I connect the battery to charge it. I'm using the second one on a guitar amp I don't want to plug directly into AC and third one is a spare. After roughly a month of use I have no complaints. EDIT Jul-2022: After about a year and a half of use I've experienced no problems at all and ordered three more today. Well worth the money!

Been looking for a switch like for a time it works great

Time and miles have taken a toll on my hands and the simple task of plugging and unplugging a power cord is no longer as easy at it used to be. I used one of these switches and it made turning the lights of my Christmas tree on and off much easier. A simple and very useful device.
