Awesome stuff!
Awesome product if you follow the directions to the LETTER! I used a small digital kitchen scale to measure out the 1/7 ratio. 14oz of the big jug and 2oz of the smaller jug (one pound of epoxy) and it worked perfectly!Starting in the morning it was about 65° outside and I had about 30 minutes working time until it was starting to harden in my mixing container. Later in the day in the mid 70's the working time only went down by 10 minutes or so. You'll definitely be able to tell the difference and it doesn't happen all at once. I was able to still apply it easily when it was about the consistency of cake batter without any issues. Just make sure prior to mixing you have all your tools and the work piece ready to rock and roll and you'll be just fine.So far its held up under a 14 foot aluminum boat slamming through wakes and beaching on coarse sandy/rocky shores with zero sign of wear. Approximately 15 days on the lake so I'm pretty happy with it. Oh and zero leaking rivets as well!Edit: 6-6-18Product STILL working like new, hundreds of fishing trips, hundreds of boat launches and recoveries, hundreds of miles on gravel and dirt roads, even a few trolling trips through 32 degree water with floating ice chunks and absolutely zero signs of wear. Finally a product that actually works!Edit 1-22-21Still absolutely no signs of wear. The paint I applied over the epoxy is definitely showing signs of wear (abuse), but the epoxy is still holding strong. Still no leaks!Edit 1-18-23We actually just sold the boat, but the epoxy was still 100% intact. Showed the new buyers the epoxy repair and while looking at it there was still virtually no signs of wear. The paint over the epoxy has completely worn away, with only minimal scratches where we'd presumably beached the boat on a rocky shore somewhere. Good stuff, definitely keeping this stuff in mind for the next repair if (when) needed.

Very Protective Layer!
I’m very pleased with the Goop Coat It. I don’t recommend going against the manufacturer’s instructions, but I added blue dye and silver and blue glitter into the mix, and am a big fan of how it turned out. Do not apply with a normal cheap foam roller as other reviewers have stated. If I were to do it again, I would spread the goop with a putty knife and the roll over with a non-absorbent roller.I started with a cheap roller, and then was forced to use just a paint brush, which did not spread great due to the thick consistency of the goop. So for my first layer on my 14’ boat I used approximately 3/4 of the 8 pound can, which prevented me from being able due to do 2 even layers. (Completely my fault)Overall, I feel very confident that the bottom of my boat’s hull is going to be way more protected. With the price, definitely go with Goop. Even if you have to apply it every two years it’s still cheaper and way less finicky than the other boat slick-bottom coating options.

Great for aluminum boat leaks
I patched a small aluminum boat that had been hit with shotgun pellets. Not a drop of water after. It does dry fast so be ready to start spreading it as soon as you mix it. Very tough epoxy.

Great stuff just learned the hard way on few things
Sealed up the holes and gets rock hard just needed to do it during the summer not winter with out a heated garage so the finish was rough and had to sand it down and reapply (fyi its gray not black)

Amazing!
I have a 14’ foot riveted John boat that I thought was not salvageable. As soon as this thing hit the water it filled up. I brazed some rivets, cleaned well with a grinder, wire brush, and scotchbrite. Applied the goop, wife poured and I smoothed with a cut down paint brush. I used all 8 pounds pretty quick, started setting up towards the end so I used that for the sides. Been in the water 3 times now and not a drop of water comes in. I will buy again if need be, this stuff dries super hard, so far really impressed.

Would not recommend
Purchased this for my restoration of my aluminum boat, first we followed the instructions from the website and the product, the mixing of part A and the mixing of part B and then combining the liquids, after 10 mins of mixing with a drill and paint mixer attached, we cleaned the bottom of the boat with acetone 1- quart for the 15’ boat, the mix did not look like it was properly mixed in the can the metal flakes did not seem to mix throughly in the product, we proceeded to pour the product on the bottom of the boat, the can said it was gray, it was spreading out clear, and did not look like it was mixed properly, we mixed the can for another 3 minutes because of the recommended curing time we had to move at a faster pace, we used foam rollers and made sure we spread it evenly, with that said the results were very poor, was not impressed and became very aggravated, the 8lb., Kit did not cover the bottom of the boat, I am now going to have to spend more money to complete the bottom of my boat, BUT I WILL NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! I AM GOING TO USE ANOTHER PRODUCT AT THIS TIME AFTER TALKING TO OTHER MANUFACTURERS, I HAD ALSO CONTACTED THE GOOP SO CALLED HOTLINE AND RECEIVED NO ANSWER OR RESPONSE, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT! IT MAY HAVE BEEN OLD PRODUCT OR OUT OF DATE WHO KNOWS! NO ONE TO GET ANSWERS FROM, VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT, I SPENT OVER 40 HOURS PREPPING THIS BOAT FOR THE PRODUCT TO BE USED, I NOW KNOW THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE!
