This is my second Gator cover.... This time around I decided to go with the gator recoil mainly because of it is aluminum. Overall I'm please with the cover .... BUT... it took 3 times to receive one that wasn't damaged. You may think that being it is a large heavy box that it would be easy to damage during shipment but that wasn't the case. The shipping company did an excellent job and there was no damage to any of the three boxes. On shipment one the end caps were cracked and the rail had a few deep scratches... On shipment 2 it appeared to be an open box and the weather stripping on the main can was cut and the unit was scratched up... So by shipment 3 I was pretty frustrated. It did have a few minor scratches but overall was fine. I love the low profile of the cover on my 2021 Ram 1500 Longhorn and it is very easy to install with 2 people, just follow the instructions they are pretty good. The cover is very stable. Anyone that have messed with these retractable covers knows that the are not 100% waterproof. You will need a tailgate seal kit and I recommend added a 1/4 thick by 1/2 wide weather strip on each inside of the rail right beside the factory strip. If you do that and follow the instructions you should only get a very small amount of water at the tailgate which seems to be normal. Amazon did an excellent job in getting me the replacement covers and sending UPS to pickup the damage units. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! With all that being said I would rate this cover 8/10 minus the problems I had with the first two shipments. Hope this helps someone good luck!

On my previous RAM 1500 with a 6' bed I had a quad-fold bakFlip and for my new RAM 1500 with 5'7" bed i wanted the same but went with this Gator FX through Amazon. Installation was great and so far everything is like before. I still have to wait for the first rain to see if it is all waterproof but ultimately that my just be some adjusting of seals I need to do.The bigger issue is that I specifically wanted and ordered the Quad-fold here through Amazon because on Gator's website that wasn't possible. I assume it is because that is not really an option for the short 5'7" bed in a Crew Cab. So it is somewhat disappointing that they suggest a Quad-fold is available when in fact it is not.

A few observations:1. Had to add weatherstripping to make it waterproof, if you don't, leaks badly at tailgate2. Make sure you have someone to assist with install, tough for 1 person alone3. 4 total clamps (2 clamps on each side of rail) is not enough as the cover rattles at highway speed. Attempted to order 2 more clamps off the Gator website, but got tired of dealing with the "virtual assistant" and hung up......4. Overall, I like the look and ease of utilization much better than the one piece Undercover cover I previously had.

Easy to install. Security is not as good as the push button roller top on my last truck but I still consider it sufficient for what I am trying to protect...and it costs less. So far no water intrusion issues and we have had a lot of rain. I do wish it was about two inches longer (front to back length). As it is you do have to be very careful about getting the front to rear fit balanced in terms of making sure there is enough overlap ( at both front and back) to reduce the potential for any water intrusion. Two more inches in the front to back length would have made that balance easier. Having said that I would still recommend the cover as sufficient for protecting your items from the weather as well as prying eyes. I made the initial mistake of ordering one from this company that was for the 2020 with a Classic Ram bed (a bit wider than the new bed on the 2020 Ram 1500 2/4x4 Big Horn). I got great customer support in getting the matter taken care of even though it was really more my fault than theirs. It looks good on the truck and I have gotten a lot of compliments on the cover. As noted, it allows the full use of your bed when the cover is opened up completely.

First off, Amazon delivered my first package to an Amazon warehouse and it was lost into the Amazon universe. It was ordered during Black Friday. I was only honored 98% of the cost to order another one. I ended up paying a bit more to make up the cost. I was on a time crunch for travel and there was a bunch of other BS with amazon, but I'll move on to the product. I was somewhat easy to install. The rails looks as though they were cut and not machined to smooth the metal...which I ended up cutting my leg pretty bad in the process. The seals buckle in spots...the tailgate is a little weird to close...it leaks...the seals by the tailgate come off when I open the tailgate. Overall it works I guess. I need it for holiday travel and don't feel like going through the frustrations of another return with Amazon. If neither were the case I would return it and just spend more money for a different cover. This is my second Gator cover, the 1st being a soft cover for a different truck. After owning 2 I can't recommend Gator to anyone. I'm just gonna charge it to the game and glue down the tailgate seal. I'll get a nicer cover later.
