Camping Hatchet, Survival Axe, with Sharpener, Sheath, Tactical Axe Multitool, for Camping, Hiking, Survival, Hunting and Emergency

Thus far, I've only had a chance to use it around the house; as hunt seasons approach, it will get more of a test, but to date, it has performed great!This tool is so well built, once assembled, you are hard pressed to find where the various parts of the handle screw into each other. It gives the appearance of being one, solid piece.Use caution: if you intend some fairly heavy log splitting with it, you must only use the short extension tube with the ax head. Medium diameter logs have split easily. The ax and the included knife sharpen easily (and hold an edge) with any standard sharpener. I keep several small ones in my hunting stuff, and camping stuff. Mine came with a sharpener, which I have yet to use, but my guess is that it performs well.There was an earlier review that discussed the ax head coming loose from the first extension tube; there is an easy remedy for that. Since I'm keeping mine with a "permanent" attachment of the head to the first tube, I used some clear fingernail polish on the threads. It's about as good as Lok-Tite, and should you need to separate the two, they come apart easier than with the Lok-Tite. Most anything I need as 'permanent', I use clear nail polish, including the screws on rifle scope rings; the advantage is that once dry, it's ALMOST as good as Lok-Tite, but easier to unscrew if you need to.I agree with the instructions that some lube on the other threads will keep o-rings sealed, and make the ax easy to disassemble; WD-40 makes a silicone-based spray, which, for my purposes, works better than "plain" lube. We have bought 12 of these axes over the last few years. They serve as the final piece of kit in a manhood development program that we run at our church. The reasons why we've chosen this axe is because it's highly functional. The axe head itself is sharp and very useful for camp type tasks such as wood processing for fires and shelters. It includes a compass, a ferro rod that throws good sparks, and the combination knife, saw, and multi-tool that are all contained within the handle. We also liked the fact that the axe head itself was completely flat so that we could have our program logo laser engraved on it so the students that complete the program will always have it as a memento and a functional tool. I would highly recommend this axe to anyone looking for an affordable and useful axe that can be more than an axe.

This multi Axe is great. It breaks down to a nice size that easily fits into a backpack. But I wish that it came with a case to hold all the 7 pieces when not in use or to hold any of the pieces that I might not be using when it is put together. To fix that problem all I did was use the box my axe came in when I ordered it, and I duct taped it so it would be more sturdy. I also like that it has a nice weight. The Axe and Knife edge can be sharpened to a almost razor sharp edge, that made it very easy for me to cut branches for firewood. And I also used the Firestarter to start a fire with the branches I cut with it. I would of liked it to come with a striker but since it didn't I used the tip of the backside of the knife as a striker for the fire rod. The handle is a little uncomfortable, but it does come with a roll of soft self sticking camo tape, so I wrapped the handles with the included tape which made the handle really comfortable and nice looking appearance with the camo print. The compass is easy to read I just think it should be switched with the safety hammer/window breaker so if you drop it you won't have to worry about breaking the compass. It all screws together tightly. I really like this multi Axe so much that I already bought a second one, 1 for everyday use, the 2nd one for my bug out bag.

Bought two of these for my 11 year old and 13 year old boys for Christmas. One was perfect and the other had bad threading so the axe head would not screw in. My boy was pretty dissapointed so I emailed yeah cool and sent them a message through amazon and they immediately took care of me. Yeah cool texted me and asked me what was wrong, I texted them pics and they had a new one to me in about two days. Wow! Needless to say, I was quite impressed (and my son was very happy). Whoever I was texting with was super helpful and easy to work with. The axes themselves are awesome. They are about the right size and when screwed together they are very sturdy. The boys love them of course as this is the first year I have got them stuff like this for Christmas. They are growing out of the toy stage and I put the multi tool axe in a backpack full of camping gear under the tree for Christmas and the axe was the biggest hit in the backpack (it comes with a compass, knife, cover for the axe head etc etc). The quality of it all is better than I expected and the price is pretty good as well. I really labored over whether or not I should get these but am def glad I did.

The Axe is great and just what I needed. I was worried that it wouldn't work very well like most hatchets since they don't have enough weight the length ratio to chop. This axe however is very light overall but has all of the weight in the head of the axe making it very useful with the long handle that weighs almost nothing but is solid. You can get a good swing and chop wood easily.I got this as a backpacking axe since it is light weight and very effective. The other features of it make it a great deal with the fire starter, whistle, great knife with saw action on it, window breaker and compass that actually works for a small compass.Great product and the company seems to be a good and responsive company.
