Solid design, good material and well finished surfaces.
It is a very well designed folding Z base, implemented with good material and with good finishes. It is very versatile. It can be used for macro photography close to the ground (small tripods do not allow you to get as close or have the stability that can be achieved with this folding Z base). It can also be mounted on a tripod or on the tripod head. Some people say it is a copy of the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head. . . and so what? Can be . . . but I'm also not sure if the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head is the original or the first. Also, it's not the only Z flex it looks like the Edelkrone. There are many more, and that's because the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head is outrageously expensive and its price is not justified. There are "snobbish" people who prefer what is more expensive, but in this case, the quality of the AdAi does not justify paying $134 instead of $60.Although I evaluated the seller and the purchase with 100%, I have a complaint: I did not receive the ADAI storage bag that the packing list claims to contain. I hope the seller will send it to me by mail !! ([email protected])

High-end Z Flex Head for less than half the cost of it’s only comparable competition.
I bought this ADAI Z Flex head to serve only one specialized purpose - to securely hold a Canon 5D Mark II and attached Canon EF 100mm 2.8 Macro lens with the sensor plane horizontal to the floor (camera pointed down). I primarily shoot medium format film and digitize the negatives using a tripod-mounted DSLR. This head appeared to be an adequate solution when attached to my tripod and extends the camera far enough away from the center column and legs to allow an unobstructed view of a negative laying flat on a light panel placed on the floor. There is no movement of the head or the camera once everything is leveled and tightened appropriately. The other option I considered with regard to extension length, materials and build quality (there is really only one, from a company based in the Czech Republic, that appears comparable) costs more than twice this ADAI head. I am quite pleased with this choice. It holds the camera securely with adequate tightening of the set screws ( Allen wrench provided with the head) and appears durable enough to withstand most anything. The fit and finish are top-rate.

Very Very Sturdy
I'm using this product for macro photograph, which requires a high degree of stability, but it will work equally well for time-lapse or motion control. The camera and lens I'm using are fairly light weight but it's extended well out in front of the tripod. The joints are tightened with an Allen wrench allowing you to tighten them as much as required to hold position. So far it has never slipped and it doesn't seem to be losing any of its ability to grip. The only thing that I don't like is the tightening screw for the horizontal rotation (yaw) which is hard to tighten and is prone to slippage. I don't understand why it doesn't use an Allen screw like the joints. I would still highly recommend it.

It'll add Value to your camera rig.
This product adds value to my camera rig. I keep it attached to my Smallrig half cage and it's been very helpful. I like to transition between a larger professional tripod and a smaller table-top size tripod so this product allows me to now use the smaller tripod as a light stand or anything else without having to always breakdown or build upon another apparatus over and over again. It saves me time and makes getting a unique shot angle easier.

Costly but heavy duty
I wasn't in love with the weight or cost of this product. It held my camera well and seemed to be of great quality, but ultimately returned the product.

You get what you pay for, or less: Buy the original Edelkrone!
This is a an obvious copy the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head. I've seen a video review of the Edelkrone and it seemed perfect for my needs (table top photography)., but its price gave me pause. Long story short: I bought the ADAI, it does not stay put, you need to endlessly futz with the articulation screws to adjust the tension, and it still creeps, so I returned the ADAI and bought the Edelkrone for 3X the price. (ouch!) The E is a wonderful piece of engineering, stays put in every position, and I am perfectly happy with it.The combo I have is a Fuji X with a 80mm macro that weights about 1300g well within the 1500g claimed capacity of ADAI. With the ADAI I had to tighten the screws until the whole head was completely locked (and unscrew them for any position adjustments) because if the head was still adjustable it would not hold the position. With E I have not touched the screws since I bought it. I holds perfectly well. The ADAI might be fine if all you need to hold a is a smartphone or a flash head but in this case I mini tripod might serve as well.

Strong AF Z-head
This Z-head is amazingly strong. Easily contends with that eu brand that comes in at more than triple the cost. Holds up my GH5 with the Leica 10-25 & a polar pro vnd! BEAST!I wish they would make each axis have a thumb knob instead of an allen wrench, it takes so long between each set to lock it in.Version 2? Please.
