Corrrect and Easy, Real Improvement.
Fit perfectly, installed easily, HOLY SMOKES, the difference over my old brakes is amazing! Can lock up the rear wheel with little effort, but still has controlled braking. I really had to squeeze my old brakes to stop this well..I have never installed a bike brake before, but I have tinkered so much with the old ones I did OK. It was easy. The brakes have strong retract springs, and have adjustment screws to set them not to rub the wheel. The pad adjustment is easy and well executed.I love getting the old bike fixed up, anyone can go down to the bike store and plunk down a chunk of change, and ride away on a new bike, but this is re-cycling at its best.

Great Replacement Brakes. Transform your older Bike!
Took a risk buying these to replace my older, cheaper Shimano rear brakes that only managed to gradually slow me down as some plastic components were cracked. These did not come with any instructions, but I figured them out. They are extremely well made and strong. Had to install a new, longer cable, but that was easy. They work perfect for pad type brakes and have completed transformed my mountain bike from "meh" since I had trouble stopping previously to having the ability to lock up the rear brakes now. The price is ridiculously cheap for a complete set of brakes, especially for mountain bike parts. If you want new brakes, but don't want to spend $100s on disk brakes, get these.

FYI - the rear and the front brakes are the same…
These Shimano’s replaced a worn set on a Trek bike I got from a garage sale. I bought two sets, one for the front and one for the rear. For the front just twist around the pads so they sit against the tire and voila. No need to buy the specific front/rear models. Same thing. This did good and I’m off on the trails again.

Solid product.
My son and I installed a 50cc motor on his bike last summer; a fun project. During the early spring we decided to replace the brakes for some much needed improvement to his stopping capability. These shipped quickly and were easy to install. They work as we wanted, improving his braking considerably. There is one small annoyance and that is the "nut" that holds the brake pad on is not hexed nor keyed in any way so you must use pliers and significant pressure to tighten them. As such it mars the paint. We decided to use the Allen keyed nuts from the original brakes as these make more sense, giving you the mechanical advantage needed to tighten them properly. We did the same with the fronts brakes.

Inexpensive brakes, with good braking force.
Bought these to upgrade my brakes for my 90s MTB. They took some adjustment but eventually they worked perfectly! Now I have loads of brake force compared to the old v style cable pull.

Nice replacement brakes on commuter bike
Nice replacement brakes for my commuter bike that is 10+ years old. There's videos online that show you how to install them, just watch and its fairly easy to figure it out. Could instantly feel the improved action on the brakes, wish I had bought these sooner!

Excellent and easy to deal with.
All the extra parts were included. The brake shoes were very easy to position, toe in, and tighten. I like long brake shoes since the leverage makes it easy to prevent unwanted rotation during final tightening. The brakes were easy to install, adjust, and use. They worked perfectly and did not squeal at all. The spring tension bolts (and my lever's barrel adjuster) quickly centered the arms for even and quiet action. Shimano's brakes are vastly superior to the unadjustable and impossible to center no-name brakes on my hybrid bicycle. The noodle stayed in place during installation, unlike the inferior cheap brake's bracket which was so wide that the noodle constantly popped free. I wish bicycle manufacturers simply used good components like this instead of awful imitations that need hours of work and still end up in failure and futility.

Nice and smooth brakes.
Good quality Shimano brakes. Installed on the rear of my converted mountain bike. I can now lock up the wheel if I squeeze the brake handle hard enough. No complaints.
