Excellent bed - two people to put together, get the right tools.
This bed is exactly as pictured and described. We are really pleased with the quality for the cost, especially with the 12 drawers (6 for each side). I was pleasantly surprised that all drawer railings came pre-attached making it easier and faster to put together the drawer units. Make sure you have the wheels facing the right way before attaching things together. I strongly recommend getting an Allan wrench bit set for your impact driver/drill to increase the speed you can get things together, tightening everything by hand would have made this a much longer project. This is a two person job, so get someone patient to help you with the process. When putting drawers together, look carefully and align the side and drawer front tracks for the drawer bottom. If they don’t align perfectly, loosen the side screws slightly, realign focusing on the side and front track for the bottom of the drawer, then slide the bottoms in and then tighten the side screws again. If they don’t align, you’ll waste a lot of time and frustration on this issue. Have a rubber mallet to gently help with putting in the wooden pegs for the bookcase, and if you got a drawer unit, be sure to adjust the lower bookcase headboard piece as directed - remove the rough unfinished wooden crossbar piece and reattach on the opposite side (the drawing does make this a bit difficult to understand). For opening the boxes, I suggest doing the bookcase headboard first (we did it 3rd and this was a little more challenging). Next put together your drawer units if you chose this option, and once these are mostly in place where you want the bed to be, then attach the side rails and footboard. Before adding the slats, make sure everything is where you want it to be, it’s a lot harder to move the drawer units once they slats are on. Overall, this was less challenging than I expected from reading other reviews but having the right tools and another person was critical to not being overwhelmed. If you’re handy, this is an excellent bed for the price!

REAL wood, sturdy functional bed
Bought this as part of a redesign for my teen's bedroom. I love assembling stuff, but this is a lot of materials - 6 boxes to be precise! It took a few hours at a comfortable pace. The build quality is top notch. There are no cam locks, no particle-board. It's all solid pine, screws, and dowels. The instructions are mostly pretty good - the only issue I had was a modification that needs to be made if you're installing the drawers rather than the trundle. It was a little hard to follow on the main instructions. Fortunately, the instructions for the drawer add-ons clarified it and explained it much better. The drawers are great as well, glide easily, and the drawer guides were already mounted to the cabinet frames, which was a pleasant surprise and shortened the build. This thing is heavy (again, real wood here), and when the drawers are seated in place, makes the piece tricky to move. My advice is to get it in place once the frame is assembled before the drawers are installed. The only hiccup with the bed was that I didn't receive the hardware for the slats. Fortunately, I had the screws from her old bed and used those. I'm very happy with this overall - but I'm more impressed with this seller. I ordered this with the nightstand, and FedEx lost that shipment (1 of 7) but marked it delivered, and was absolutely unhelpful to try and find it, even though their website showed it as delayed and in transit, they're automated research told me it was delivered and to take it up with the seller. Well, after waiting a week+ and not getting it, I did contact the seller. They were AWESOME in their response. He apologized, dove right into researching it, followed up immediately, got another one sent out, and I'm happy to report it was here today, less than 48 hours from my inquiry. He turned a bad experience into an absolutely positive experience, because of the horrible service that his shipper caused. I highly recommend this product, and this company. Thank you Andrew!

Not bad for the price, but a few things to know
I gave this bed 4 stars because the finished product is a pretty decent piece of furniture, especially when you consider the price. Having said that there were a couple of problems that kept it from being 5 stars, and a few tips that might help some people who choose to order it. First of all, shipping and delivery were great. The freight forwarder (ABF) worked with me as soon as the order was received, and they were able to get it to me almost two full weeks before the scheduled delivery date from Amazon. The dispatcher and driver were very helpful, and worked with my very difficult delivery location. The boxes were intact and undamaged. The furniture itself is pretty well finished. Some slight imperfections that you would probably find in more expensive pieces as well. Nothing that is very noticeable or would require correction by any but the most picky customers. The pieces are all real wood - no particle board, MDF or OSB. A little plywood for the drawer bottoms, which are just a bit thin, but everything else is actual lumber (not sure what species, but some of the drawer assembly pieces are common pine or spruce. As previously stated, everything arrived undamaged, with one major exception, which is the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars. I got the 12 drawer full size model, and one of the 6 drawer units was in perfect condition. The other looked like it had been assembled by a someone who just didn't care. 10 of the screws where the drawer guides fastened to the support pieces had to be replaced. The assembler had driven the screws at an angle that caused the support pieces to split and splinter. Many of the screws were only loosely inserted or had fallen out completely. All but one of these occurrences were in the back, where the imperfections are ultimately invisible. One was in the front, though, but the visible portion is mostly hidden by a drawer front. I know other people have identified and photographed these same problems, and I'm sure if I had complained the company would have sent a replacement drawer unit. Luckily I'm pretty handy, so I was able to fix the problems without too much trouble. All I did was remove the short screws they had used and broke off the loose splinters and chips of wood. I then drilled the holes deeper into the supports and substituted some longer wood screws I had laying around. The result is everything works fine, and you would have to know where to look to find the one front flaw. Took about an hour to fix, but if you aren't comfortable with this level of repair it could be worse. Once the drawer unit was repaired, the actual assembly took about an hour and a half. All the hardware was there and the instructions, which were all pictures, were nonetheless clear and easy to follow. For some reason, the pages were stapled together out of order, but the steps were numbered anyway. Interestingly the parts card had one spot labeled "spare hardware", which contained just one nut and bolt for fastening the side rails to the head/foot boards. Coincidentally, one of the original nuts in the group of eight of these was mis-threaded, and I damaged the bolt trying to force them to work. Funny that the one spare they included happened to be the one spare I needed. Finally, a few things I did that others might find helpful. First of all, if you aren't using a cordless electric screwdriver you should be, and you can save a lot of time by getting a hex bit that fits the bolts they provide. It would be nice if they included one in addition to the little Allen wrench they give you. If you have to tighten all the bolts using that wrench, though, add about a half hour to the assembly. Second, if you think you might use the shelves in the headboard for anything electrical, get a couple of desk grommets. It's easier and less messy to hole-saw for these before the headboard is assembled, and the finished look is worth the few bucks they cost. Finally, I bought a whole bunch of the adhesive backed furniture sliders that are a half inch wide by 4 inches long. Before assembly I put them all along the bottom edges of every piece that contacts the floor. I think I used 16 for each drawer unit, and a few more for the head and foot boards. Cost about $15 on Amazon and took a few minutes to apply, but now I can slide the entire unit around if I need to. If you don't do that, you better do the assembly pretty much right where you want it to stay. One last comment about the quality control of the item. The majority of the pieces came from Vietnam, and they had no problems. However, on the side of each drawer unit box were the words "Assembled in USA". Ironically, this is where all of my problems were found, and most other people's problems, from what I read in other reviews. In retrospect, I should have taken pictures of the damage, my repairs, and my modifications, but I didn't, and I'm not going to take anything apart to go back and get some.

Beautiful, Functional Bed
I was initially apprehensive about ordering furniture, sight unseen online. I wanted this bed for quite some time and finally did it. To my surprise, it came a week later. My son and son-in-law had it put together in a little over an hour, and judging by the lack of swear words, I'm guessing it wasn't too difficult. Solid and sturdy, this is a very nice bed that I envision will last for many years. Be aware that there is a downside. Having 12 drawers underneath makes this bed very tall. I have to use a small step stool to get in and out of it. However, it does make this bed very easy to make, and the drawer space, as well as the storage space in-between them, makes any need for a dresser obsolete. I LOVE the space it freed up in my bedroom! This is a beautiful, functional bed that I couldn't be happier with.

Great Bed - Beautiful Piece of Furniture
This is a beautiful piece of furniture! What I love most about this bed is that it sits on top of 12 drawers (6 on each side) which are good-sized and great for storage. It also has storage in the headbord. And there's a door that opens at the foot of the bed where one can put a few larger or longer items (like kids!). A friend is a carpenter and asked to put it all together, so I can't comment on the ease of that operation, but he said it wasn't difficult. Note: this bed is a substantial/heavy piece of furniture, so make sure it gets constructed exactly where it's going to stay. During construction it can be positioned more precisely, but once it's finished that's it. It only needs one mattress which makes the top of the bed somewhat high off the floor. Perhaps the only challenge is getting into it for the first time. Because it's high off the ground the easiest thing to do is back up to it, fall over backward and roll onto it. Trust me, after doing it once you'll get the hang of it. I suppose a small stool or step would be handy for someone who's shorter. It's full size and nice and roomy.

DO NOT BUY
I would never recommend this product. Half the pieces of the bed were not numbered which made it impossible to assemble. Tried to return it but really expensive so we struggled to put it together. When we finished we realized one piece was put on backwards so now need to rebuild the bed. The drawers were all numbered so thought that process would be easier. However directions are not clear and we also needed to rebuild several of those. Customer care tried to help by sending video but still unclear. We have built several pieces of furniture from other manufacturers and never had such issues. Do not buy!

Pretty bed!! Easy Assembly!! A lot of Scratches!! Broken Pieces!! Very Wobbly!!
I was nervous about the color looking like the picture. Surprisingly it turned out prettier than I anticipated!! This bed is solid wood BUT it has many small flaws that may end up being a big problem in the future. Assembly was easy enough for me and my kids to do together. Drawers don't stay shut. It's not level and that's not bc it's put together wrong. There were A LOT OF SCRATCHES straight out of the box. 2 pieces of a drawer broken. About 25 holes didn't line up for screws to fit into. The drawers DO NOT CONNECT TO FRAME!! You can move them very easily and I'm betting this will be a issue within a few months. The shelves are nice but you can't get the stoppers in the holes to hang them. The headboard is very wobbly and things are constantly falling off since it's a kids bed and they are not the easiest getting in and out of a bed. Storage space is AMAZING!!! Overall the bed will work for what it's needed to be used for but I won't buy another one. I am nervous that the price to buy this bed and the many flaws already noticed that it won't be worth the nearly $1000 I spent. This could be an amazing bed if small things were corrected but I wouldn't suggest buying one with the unknown of how well it will hold up over the years to come.

A Good Bargain for the $$$Bucks$$$
FINALLY - It is assembled, and I first slept on it last night. (Background: When I ordered the bed, I also ordered local assembly, and at the time, Amazon confirmed an assembler was available. I'm old, shot-up, crippled, and cannot do all the required bending, stooping, lifting and contorting involved in assembly. AFTER the order was placed and the bed received by the delivery company, I was advised by Amazon that my local assembler was no longer available, and they had NO OTHER assemblers in my area. It took me over two weeks to find someone on my own, so keep that possibility in mind if you order.) Mine is the full size, with 12 drawers, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, relative ease of assembly (by an able-bodied person) and features which work out very well for me. I consider it a real bargain. The storage space is excellent; exactly what I need. So far, FIVE STARS for Discovery World...
