More apps might work with it if they provide the UUID but that sounds like a long shot
This doesn't appear to actually follow Apple's iBeacon standard. The only iOS app that I could find that can "see" these things is the LassoTag app. The Android iBeaconDetector app can see it, but says "This is not iBeacon" and dumps the raw hex data being sent. It does not start with the iBeacon standard header "02 01 06 1A FF 4C 00 02 15" but is the correct length. More apps might work with it if they provide the UUID but that sounds like a long shot.

Easy to set up, can't beat the value.
One of the easiest to install devices I've seen. Just open the case as directed, remove the battery protector strip, and snap back together. My iPhone immediately recognized it and I didn't have to wade through poorly written instructions as you do on other tags. The application function that is supposed to give you relative proximity needs more work. It definitely can tell you the device is in the room, but if it's buried under stacks of paper (and you have multiple stacks of paper in the room), be prepared to hunt. For the price this has to be one of the best on the market. I'll be even happier if the battery life is as advertised.

So many Uses...
I took advantage of the LassoTag promotion and bought all 7 colors as Christmas gifts. They were the perfect stocking stuffer. Packaging was minimal and the instructions were virtual. I didn’t mind and my family/friends didn’t have any issues figuring it out. No need to destroy a rainforest.Product is very sturdy and made of good quality. Almost too sturdy. It was a bit difficult opening up the tag to remove the safety tab.The application is intuitive and set up was easy. It took a bit longer to connect than I would have liked, but once connected it works like a champ. I bought the Notification Service for my own personal use since I sometimes don’t hear/see the alert on the phone. The text message and phone call has saved by bacon a couple of times now.The LassoTag has a bunch of good uses. My son is using it to track his kids. My sister travels a lot so she is using it to make sure her luggage gets on the plane. And my neighbor stuck his on his deck to use as an external thermometer.

Not good for finding items in your house.
I bought this for my wife who is constantly loosing her keys around the house. The LassoTag showed me the tag was in the house. Duh!! But there is no beep or warmer / colder indication. Also the app was a big drain on battery life on my phone. I couldn't figure out how to turn off tracking without uninstalling the app. It's very unclear what happens when your trial subscription ends. Didn't stick around to find out. I don't want to pay another $12.95 and leave the app running all the time to find someone else's stuff.Buy the Click 'n Ding RF key finder instead.

Great Product
I am very happy with this product. I have bought 3 more products of same type similar to this and compared.I think I found this to be much better in terms of features, functionality, performance and price.I definitely recommend this.

Sadly Disappointed
The title said iBeacon but it is not really an iBeacon. It is a rebranded $5 Gimbal beacon only you cannot get the Gimbal app to reset its configuration and make it the iBeacon you were sold for $20. My sticker wasn't even put on straight. When you open the case you see the url for getFYX.com (Gimbal login). What is the difference? Say you want other applications to detect the iBeacon using the iBeacon protocol - it won't. It only broadcasts as an iBeacon during boot up, then it spits out encrypted codes over and over and over.
