This thing looks fancy and when I put a battery in, the lights were bright which made me super excited to test it out... Then I went to remove the plastic protective tip. The whole stem just pulled right off. This pulled the wire out making it completely useless. This was a complete fail. There was no glue or threading whatsoever to hold the stem in place. The first removal of the plastic tip and it just disintegrated. That's the second product from Amazon this week that was defective...disappointed.

Don't waste your money. Even though the soil is visibly wet, meter still reads 'dry-', ph reads 7.0 no matter where I tested. Indoor plants, outside garden etc. Sunlight always reads low - even in direct sunlight. Only thing that works is the temp switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Do not bother with this product.

According to the directions, you are supposed to pull off the plastic tip so that you can use it. I pulled it off and the entire silver piece pulled out of the unit. Now I'm stuck with a unit that I can't use.
