The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook (Lyrics and Chords)

All the greatest songs ever written
I downloaded this book for use with my iPad, with the Kindle app installed. The iPad, mounted on my music stand offers a perfect display of the selected page with the advantage of being able to increase the text size if needed. The book version is quite thick and therefore easy to lose your page as the book wants to keep closing itself. This obviously doesn’t happen with the downloaded version, and the pages always stay in perfect condition with no creased pages etc.The page layout of the songs together with images of the chords on the fretboard is excellent, making it much easier to successfully play and sing some of the best songs ever written.

Lives up to the title!
Only when you begin to play the Beatles music can you really appreciate the true meaning of X-Factor! I've learnt chords that I never knew existed, and this book genuinely makes playing along to the Beatles a great deal more satisfying. The songs generally seem to be written in the correct key, which can't be said for a lot of other Beatles material I've come across. Some songs do require a capo, so if you don't have one already then now's the time to get one, otherwise songs such as 'Here Comes the Sun' just won't sound the same!In the few weeks I've owned the book I can certainly say I've had value for money, perfect for whiling away a few hours.Whether you're an experienced player or just starting out, this book will always have something to offer you. The sheer variety of music in here is sure to make you a better player!Stop reading and start playing :)

Very Good
A great book which is very well laid out. It has all of the lyrics and comes with pretty much every Beatles song you'll ever want to play from 'A Day In The Life' to 'Your Mother Should Know'. There are songs missing however. I couldn't find 'Chains', 'Baby It's You'' and 'To Know Her Is To Love Her' amongst a few others. Although some of these songs were not written by The Beatles they did cover them and I think they should be included in any 'complete' Beatles song/chord book. Nevertheless there are around 197 songs covered in the book. It comes with a relative tuning guide (if you need it). Pages are laid out with the name of the song, then the chord boxes and it gives you the chord symbols right above the lyrics so you know exactly where the chord changes come. It tells you how the songs are split up (Intro, verse 1, bridge, chorus, outro, coda etc. It let's you know what position to put a capo in if a song needs one and it informs you of any special tunings. There are simple to play songs like 'Yellow Submarine to more difficult numbers like 'Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite' and 'Fixing A Hole'. There is something to suit all tastes. The great thing about these songs is that you can make them as complicated or simple as you want them. Many songs are made up of your basic G's, E's, D's etc but there are some advanced chords like 'G7#9 on 'Taxman', don't even go there and be prepared to play A LOT of barre chords. With that said chord phrasings are pretty much completely accurate although there are some discrepancies. It of course includes the famous, powerful single strum opening chord from 'A Hard Days Night' which the book names as a G7sus4 barre chord played on the 3rd fret, it sounds amazing and I would buy this book just to know that chord. If you're looking for the book to tell you exactly how to play George's finger picked solo's you will be disappointed. The book gives you the chord progression but there are no fully tabbed pieces here, the book is for strumming really, it is up to you if you want to take it further. The book is given a nice finish with a lovely discography at the back. I can't see a better Beatles chord book on the market though and I use it all the time.

Fantastic.
In a standard single album chord book you get about 10-15 songs. For roughly the same price I got this chord book which is absolutely packed with songs. It is amazing value for money, all the songs sound great and I have yet to find any mistakes. If you are a fan of The Beatles...buy this book. Also if you are just getting into playing the guitar, I would also highly recommend this book. There are a great deal of songs that are very simple to play and can really help you advance in your learning. There are also some medium skilled songs as well as some hard and very technical songs so as you progress in your learning there is always a song for your skill level. The only way you could improve this book would be by making it a hardback as it is quite heavy and if you use it a lot, I can see the pages getting dinged up.

"All Together Now"
This is just what Doctor Robert ordered! Great for beginners or more advanced players.Me and the wife wacked some new strings on our acoustics and got straight into it.We had a great family singsong throughout New Years eve which really made it a memorable one. Some of the songs are a lot more challenging than others but most can be picked up immediately. It won't show you how to play the actual guitar parts (you'll have to work those out for yourself if you want to) but as a "strum along" guide it does a grand job. If I could always have a guitar with me then I'd take this book here there and everywhere.

More for advanced musicians
I've found Hal Leonard publications to be accurate as far as chord accuracy, so this is an excellent musician's reference for guitarists, keyboardists, vocalists, etc. It has all the songs. That said, this is not, to me, an intermediate guitarist and drummer- and easy book guitar-wise. There's a lot going on, musically, in Beatles music; 2 guitars playing a huge variety of chord forms, lead and back-up vocals, bass, drums, horns, woodwinds, percussion, and more. The songs have anywhere from 3 to like 28 chords per song- if I've looked fairly carefully! I'm starting out playing the 3-7 chord songs until I get better. It is an absolute blast! If you can, get the spiral bound edition so the book will stay open. BTW buy the songs you like on Amazon and you're ready to rock!

Good Book
Good book, a few incorrect chords here and there, compared to "The Beatles Complete Scores".Chords and lyrics only. But that's what the book is for. The chords are illustrated for each tune.I bought the book for quick glance, because the "The Beatles Complete Scores" is small print but it is very accurate, c/w tablature and written music for each instrument (even has hand-claps)When I need tablature I have it in "Complete Scores".So, I'm glad I bought this book. Perfect for getting into Beatles.
