The day I received them I ordered the two-pack. I would like to order a 100 pack. These are so comfortable, light, airy, and breathable. I wear them around the house, I've slept in them, and mostly I've been wearing them as daily underwear. I think if I was going to wear them to the gym or some such I'd prefer a size larger, which I might try soon, as I like boxers a bit smaller than top layer gear. Of course I wouldn't also need underwear. I'd stick to dark colors due to the shearness of them in public. They're made of 100% NYLON, which is for me the gold standard for hard-wearing, long lasting shorts and underwear. I first bought the green (nice) then the steel or charcoal (also nice) or whatever and now I'm going to order another 2 pack in brown. Thanks and stay frosty. Review: sensibly short - I have spent a great deal of time looking for shorts like this. All the major brands has nothing sensibly short these days due to the fashion trend of shorts that hangs down to your knees. Hay with more and more global population are obese this fashion tide seems no end in sight. In recent years I have better luck finding my shorts in Asia trips. Even then finding one with the right cut and build quality is more miss than hit. I was close to giving up looking on desertcart until I see this. I was very skeptical so I order only one to see. It exceeded my expectation. I am 6’ 150 lb with 32 waist. Thinking these are likely from China where no name brands for domestic market tends to be sized very small I ordered L. It fits me nearly perfectly except the waist band feels slightly loose. The cut is very nice with about 2 ¼” inseam. Without the excessive pleats it does not have the all too common oversized miniskirt appearance. The waist band on the front wears very close to my belly button and I like that. There is no ugly brand logo which is nice. The tiny pocket is barely big enough for a small house key and is typically insecure. The stitching quality is as good as the major brands costing three times more. Yes, running shorts are the biggest rip-offs from the usual suspects. The key is to buy them off season. These are made in El Salvador. Sold and shipped by desertcart. I ordered the graphite instead of my usual black and very glad with the choice. Thankfully it is not the usual sick light grey but quite blackish as graphite should. The fabrics of outside and the liner look and feel identical. They are very soft and supple, and very comfortable to the skin. The liner’s cut is perfect everywhere. It is made of three panels instead of the common two. None of the common cutting across the cheeks at the back feeling. The elastics around the legs as well feel nice and well stitched and sized. The liner breaths well so these are perfect for the hottest of weather. I test worn it for hours around the house and this is one of the most comfortable shorts I have bought in recent time. There is no bothersome static cling. Wanting a perfect fit, I am ordering a medium of the same color. If medium does not feel too tight I will a few. desertcart has a winner here in price as well as quality. They are perfect for wearing around the house as well as active activities. A good small purchase makes me smile.

LOVE THEM!
I love these shorts so much that I ordered another six. Very silky, soft and smooth against the body. They are slightly see through better very easy to fit on any size body type.

Staple Item
The Soffe Men’s Authentic Ranger Shorts have been a consistent staple in my wardrobe for years. They are exceptionally versatile, performing well during gym sessions and yard work while remaining comfortable enough for lounging. Given their superior comfort and fit, I have even integrated them into my daily routine as my preferred underwear.

Great shorts but as of late 2025 they're baggier/longer than they used to be...
I have purchased these for like a decade... now the latest batch is clearly different. (late September 2025) they are baggier and longer :( There's nothing more attractive than a man confident enough to wear these shorts... and they're just darn comfy and perfect for all types of workouts and lounging around. That said, now that they're slightly baggier and longer, I'll look for something else. Also, not quite as "silky" of a fabric. It's slightly stiffer - not as soft. Bummer :(

Worth the money.
Excellent as usual. I buy these all the time. They run large so be careful. Order one size smaller as I do and they are perfect.

For the shy nudist
Let's put this out in the open first, since many of the negative reviewers are getting their shorts in a bunch over it-- the Soffe men's running shorts are short. Very short. Even their product description on Amazon says as much: "This running short is cut to a small 2.25 inches inseam for the seious runner looking for a true training fundamental." (In case you're wondering, a "seious runner" is a runner who likes to be seen, and so, one who is not afraid to show the lower ridges of his cheeks even if there's some shrubbery growing on them. And a "true training fundamental" is a fundamental who's engaged in a program to train him to handle the truth; I'm not sure why the seious runner is looking for such a fundamental.) If your decorum prevents you from tawdry displays, your time is better spent not purchasing these shorts instead of buying a pair and then complaining about it, though I am not one to slam the cathartic powers of self-righteousness. I bought two pairs of these shorts about ten months ago, and I've used them for running on & off since then. They are so thin and light it's easy to forget they're actually on. In fact, much to my surprise, I seem to have them on right now. They're great for writing reviews, but they're even better for running. I have used my Soffes in two running capacities. On scorching summer days, I wear them on their own. And on moderate-to-cold days, I wear them over compression shorts (which challenge my modesty on a more frontal end). That's right! These Soffes shield AND flaunt! If that's not versatility, I don't know what is. The nylon fabric is gauzy and silky, not quite moisture-wicking, but quick to dry nevertheless. After weekly runs in the washer and dryer, the fabric is starting to pill in places; however, given how thin it is, I expected there to be gaping holes in the nylon by now. The fabric's integrity remains strong, even if mine degenerates in such wear. There have been complaints about the absence of drawstrings; for me, that's a plus, since elastics have always been plenty strong to keep shorts up. Drawstrings end up dangling and bouncing, and I don't want any dangling and bouncing in the groin area while I run. The waistband elastic remains as strong and comfy as the day I bought the shorts. By the way, my waist size is usually 34, and the Soffe medium shorts fit just right. There's a key pouch tucked under the front elastic, just big enough for a single key (unless your front door requires a skeleton key, in which case you should first change your locks and then start running). Don't count on stuffing your smartphone or a baby kangaroo in the pouch, let alone keys on keychains. The pouch is minimal. There may be room for a key and a quarter, in case you run too far, buoyed by this feeling of unbearable lightness, and you need to call a cab home. Tip re key: if you place your key tip downward in the wee pouch, it's likely that the up/down tapping will tear an opening in the fabric, as one reviewer experienced. Instead, place the key bow-side (i.e. handle-side) down. Now go, run, show the world your hidden talents.

too see thru
Yes , light comfortable and fit as expected. However you really shouldn't wear these in public as the liner is too revealing for me.
