I like it; giving 5 Stars inspite of exaggerated cooling claims...
At the time I ordered them, "Sharper Image" was the only seller. (I actually ordered TWO of these) The fan appears to be of generally high quality (though made of plastic) The fan comes with a full compliment of accessories, including: a "battery pack" power supply (you supply the 4 AA Batteries) that would allow the included "USB" power cord to plug into the Battery Pack's Female USB jack, the other end of that cord would plug into the larger of two female power receptacle jacks in the side of the fan. That USB power cord could also plug into a powered USB Jack for alternate power. Also included, is an Automobile Cigarette Lighter Jack Power Cord that would allow you to power the Fan from an Auto Cigarette Lighter! Why you'd want to, I'm not sure, unless you were parked somewhere, and didn't want to run the car's the air conditioner??? There is also included an A/C electrical plug adapter, that allows you to power fan from conventional 110V electrical outlet. They also included two styles of mounting brackets for the Fan; one a circular disk with a 'sticky' center (when you remove adhesive cover) that also has two screw holes as alternate means of securing this mounting base to a HORIZONTAL surface, and a second means of mounting the fan, consisting of a VERY strong CLAMP, that will clamp on to a horizontal shelf, up to about 3/4" thick. Both of these mountings, have a 'slider' device on them, that mates to a special GROVE molded into the bottom of the fan, such that the fan is then SECURED to the mounting device, to prevent accidental knock over. Apparently, if the fan is accidently knocked over, it could damage the delicate patented misting head, not to mention spilling water all over. The pedestal of the fan DOES articulate, but only by about maybe 25* (degrees) Conversation with manufacturer Rep. suggested is best to run fan in near Horizontal position. Also included, is a special funnel that allows convenient filling through the hole at the top of the fan. Using ONLY Distilled Water (if you use Tap Water, you will quickly destroy the Nano Misting Head) it uses about 6 oz of Distilled Water. There was no manufacturer contact information included with fan (only very sketchy description of how to change misting head) Sharper Image provided me with phone number for 'CoolMate' Their Rep. stated they plan on coming out with other colors (besides Red) in a few months, and may introduce a 10" model. She also mentioned they are currently OUT OF STOCK of replacement Misting Heads, so if your Misting Head fails, you're out of luck (until they get some in) I discovered that after about four hours or so of continuos operation, the Misting Heads shut themselves off. The Factory Rep. said that was intentional, to help prevent Misting Heads from running dry, after Fan runs out of water! The tests of these fans were conducted in Tucson, Arizona, with outside temperatures well over 100*F -Both fans running on LOW settings (slower fan speed, with 2 second water spray every 6 seconds) in a room about 10' x 20' and 8' ceiling starting with room temp. of 88* F and about 20% humidity, with both fans running, as described, for at least 6 hours, over several days of testing, there was absolutely NO decrease in room temperature! It could be that the relentless late afternoon sun, heating up the Adobe Brick Construction, is TOO overwhelming for these tiny little fans, and they can't offset the heat! (I did notice the Humidity in the room slowly increased by about 10%) The fans did give the ILLUSION of the room being cooler, though the thermometers did NOT substantiate any decrease in temp! In theory, this type of device should work best in High Heat and Low Humidity, but the actual results were disappointing! Maybe you'll have better results in your climate??

Seemed like a good idea.
Bought this product from Costco. Used it in the car in 82 degree weather while waiting for my wife who was shopping. Did not keep me cool. The car was parked in the shade and the windows are tinted. Did not make much of a difference in comfort level at all. The mist is a fine mist that dissipates within a few inches of the fan and the fan head is a bit small to move much air. I was laying back in the seat with the fan on the console about 12 inches from my face. I think the fan is going back to the store.
