So, I have a LOC Precision Sandhawk Park Flyer, 1.6" rocket. This will be my first of high powered rockets as I'm getting back into the hobby and trying to get my foster kid into it as well. I've always loved model rockets, way too cool. So the rocket comes with a 29MM engine mount tube. LOC's idea of using a motor is to put a piece of tape around it for a friction fit and then to tape it into the mount at the end to keep it from popping out when the ejection charge goes off. I DON'T THINK SO, that's one of the lamest ideas I've ever heard. So I bought these retainers, was kind of worried because the LOC engine tubes are supposed to be thicker than Estes tubes. Well, it fit right on, no problems at all. The only problem I have is that the thread on retainer cap is almost the same size as my body tube to I had to modify the mount location by sliding it out the back about a half inch. No worries. I hadn't glued the mount into the body tube yet. I'm in the middle of painting the rocket right now so when I'm done I will add some images. Going with Aerotech Economizer F67-4W (no HAZMAT shipping fee) motors, the fit in perfect, retainer holds it in place perfect. Can't wait to launch this one, my rocket sim program estimates 1600 feet altitude so we will see what happens. Updates to come.

Every model rocket aficionado knows about these Estes motor retainers. They work great and are super easy to install. Highly recommend.

Wish the description was clearer.. this is a pack of 2 complete sets. They work great. Super handy way to retain the motor and nice and lightweight add on to the butt end of the rocket, where youre usually looking to keep things light to not tip the scales on center of gravity.

Fits the G40-7 Estes motor perfectly.

Man I love these retainers!!! Estes nailed it on this one! Sand the inside of the ring, use high temp epoxy and you can’t go wrong! They arrived quick and packaged well. I am now putting them on all my mid power rockets!!

These work brilliantly. I was slightly concerned about the idea of plastic near the nozzle end of a motor after experiences with 54mm moon burners melting high temp epoxy, etc... but with a 29mm motor I guess things just don't have time to get that hot. The fact that these are very light means that you can add one to an airframe without moving the CG way back the way a typical aluminum motor retainer set will. I suspect we'll use these by default on 29mm motor mounts in the future...
