Finally - the Excel VBA book I'v e been looking for for years. Covers many subjects and not by just glossing over. Plenty of examples and doesn't take leaps between steps.

Excellent book for anyone looking to get the most of Excel
This Julitta Korol's book is excellent both for the variety of topics covered as the didactic. For Excel power users looking to get the most of this software this book is definitely for them. Excellent book!

Useful book
This book introduced a lot of knowledge which I didn't know before. For example, excel 4 macro is based on XLM, etc. Quite knowledgeable. I hope I could achieve a new level of excel skill after finish this book.

Very valuable book
Directly to the point with important information that you find in no other book. Very useful examples that train you in the material just learned. Best book on the subject that I encountered up to now.

Where is the index
A waste of money as an ebook. No index. No web links (so no cutting and pasting). Poor organization. I would pass this one over if I were you.

not enough relevent MSXML2 API info
the MSXML2 API is sparsely documented on the web and this book doesn't provide enough real world examples of MSXML2 or the supporting helper classes.

Better than Live Videos on the subject
As a complete beginner to VBA with good Excel knowledge but no VBA knowledge I needed to see how things were done and seeing screen shots was the best option for me to learn and understand syntax and codes. Having tried a couple of video tutorials I found myself rewinding several times to listen and learn, the example modules only producing the final result.Having started my project with little or no real understanding I hit my first hurdle and knew I needed to understand Events more. Not wanting to spend mega bucks as this was a project for work as well as a hobby I came across this book in Amazon and thought I could use a couple of the example codes in my project. I loaded the CD onto my laptop and tried jumping straight in to chapter 19 (userforms) as this was where I needed to gain more understanding. At first I was annoyed that it referred to previously set up examples. I then decided to start this book from the beginning and am so glad I did!I can only say that the author has my greatest admiration (I did not know it was a woman until I read the beginning). Every line and word is concise but with explanation as to why, what, how and consequences. It is fast paced and although I was tempted to skip bits I 'already knew' I am so glad I did not as I learnt simple basic things I had missed. She shows you different ways to achieve the same results but without suggesting the best way, leaving it up to the user. In one 'lesson' she will use one method and in the next a different method to achieve the same result. (In a similar fashion to users who prefer to use the click method on the toolbar for cutting and pasting whereas I prefer CTRL+C, CTRL+V). She leaves out all the things we already know and gets straight into the nitty gritty of writing code, gradually easing you into all the wonders of VBA.By following the chapters through I learnt far more in the first few chapters than entire video courses on the subject. Each Hands On tutorial presents you with code to type in that you may not at first understand and then she explains everything behind it. Within seconds you are writing code that produces results but more importantly you know what every line of code does and why it is there. All the examples are there on the CD if you hit a problem for comparison, but not needed if you don't.This book should be top of the list for all wannabe VBA/Macro programmers. It is fast moving, clear, concise, educational and covers everything a beginner needs to know. I would even go as far to say some advanced programmers could learn a few things from this book, even if only to refresh their memory (going from the video tutorials I have studied)!I am in awe of this writer and my ambition is to gain as much understanding of VBA as she has but suspect I would need to spend 8 hours a day 5 days a week for a couple of years to achieve this!A wonderfully presented book, easy to read, set at the right pace for me (impatient), professionally written (have found no errors so far) and a great tutorial.

Great
I bought the kindle version of the book, I thought the pictures were a bit small but then I realised that if you double click on them they pop out and you can make them any size you like, which works really well. I've sent an email to the publishers for the code as instructed, I'm sure I'll get it(I only bought the book today), though so far I'm on chapter 3 and i haven't needed the source code.So far, I have to say this book is absolutely brilliant. It's not a reference book, you have to start on Chapter 1 and treat it as a course - which is exactly what I wanted, and it seems like it's incredible value for money. I'm a beginner in VBA, I've been studying it for a couple of months, both using google/ youtube, and having bought some books, but nothing was really giving me a proper understanding of what I'm doing. I haven't minded starting again with this book, because it explains everything so much better than anything I've seen before, and also includes a lot which I didn't know.So far I'm very glad I've bought this, highly recommended.

Excel 2010 Programming by Jullita Korol
This book is a must for anyone wanting to delve into the world of Macro's and VBA and also getting more out of Excel than just simple spreadsheets. Jullita makes understanding this black art a whiz. she explains every aspect and backs it all up with a complete set of examples. If you buy the book she includes a Disc, but if you buy the Electronic Kindle download DON'T despair because if you contact the publishers and provide them with your Amazon order reference they will send you a download link to get the Disc electronically.
