Absolutely perfect

Fuse holder was a replacement for a corroded barrel type fuse holder in my boat. I would have preferred copper conductor over aluminum but it works. Worked very well and I liked the blade type much better.

I meant to order 12ga, so I was really shocked when I saw the 8ga, but since I was installing one end to the battery terminal, the extra thickness was not a problem. So far so good.

Compared to the tinned copper 10AWG and 8AWG wire I had on hand, this fuse assembly looks like copper clad aluminum wire closer to 10AWG. The fuse itself is OK, the fit and finish of the contacts and housing are a bit crude, but I'll rate it at 4 stars, -1 for wire size and type, and chalk up the rest to quality typical of the price point.

I bought this for my Wrangler fob . Tested it out and it definitely blocks the fob signal to start the Jeep.

I used this fuse + holder with an electric fan on my car that pulls 20 amps constant. The fuse and wiring are in spec as per the fan manufacturer's instructions. After a few months, I started having issues with the car stalling, and noticed my voltage gauge dropping as well. Some diagnostic work led me to believe it happened whenever the fan kicked on, and further digging led me to this melted fuse holder. The fuse was not blown, and the wiring was fine, as I would expect. 20 amps isn't that much, but this holder, which comes with a 40a rated fuse, couldn't take it. This is beyond inexcusable, its dangerous. I bought this particular product because it had a reasonable number of positive reviews, so I wanted to make my voice heard, and let people know that, if you're looking for a heavy-duty fuse holder, as I was, this is NOT it.

Cap provided fits snugly over fuse. Only potential (minor) installation problem that may be encountered is the heavy gauge wire (8 gauge) provided.
