So handy
Decent quality and has variety of all the common fasteners in SAE and metric. It's so handy to have a bolt/ thread checker around. Fit seems decent for all fasteners I've tried this on. There are several styles, I prefer this style to throw in the toolbox and take out to projects and then take with me to inventory at the shop or to the hardware store.

Works exactly as advertised!
Nifty little tool that does exactly what it's advertised to do! Now I'll know what size nut/bolt I need before I go to Home Depot! And I won't have to stand at HD's thread checker fumbling to see the right size of my nut/bolt! Again, nifty little tool to add to my colletction!

It's good.
A long time ago I went to a website that sells hardware and ordered one of every size but and bolt they had. But it was only 19 sizes. This has 26. Anyways I tested them all and they were all smooth both inside and out. Pretty nice. Also, the sizes are indeed stamped in and filled in with paint. They'll never wear off. If you dropped them in acetone or something and the paint dissolved you could rub more paint over it and wipe away the excess with a rag and isopropyl alcohol. It's true, trying to thread one into a hole really sucks because they're all on a steel cable. The cable isn't the most flexible thing and the weight makes it worse. You can't feel what you're doing like that. I tried putting them on a string and that did help a lot because you could isolate one and let the string wrap around the bolt as you turn it. But not good enough for me. I knew when I bought these that I wanted to make a case for them and I did. I won't go into the details but if you're handy that's the way to go. Best part, I had 7 sizes from my first set that this set didn't have. 3 sizes smaller in both inch and metric, and one other inch 12-24. So now I have the ultimate bolt collection. I used thick foam in my case, drilled holes surprisingly easy and they all fit nice and snug. But you could also use magnets. 30 bucks is a lot of money, but I think it might actually be more to buy all this hardware individually at home depot or lowes. And to have the male and female on one piece with the size stamped in, yeah I think it's worth it. Very cool thank you.

Affordable, Useful, and Expendable
I've yet to test the accuracy and the quality of the product. But say if it does work then this thread & nut identifier is affordable, portable, and expendable if broken. I was thinking of getting the more expensive ones that also mount onto a vertical surface or table. But then I thought "what if the threads are in a vehicle per se" so this will be of great use for such a situation. I may think about buying another so I can cut them off the wire cable and place them in another container so I can use these in even tighter spaces where the whole bunch just gets in the way when I only need one. I see two things that concern me but don't exactly impact the use. Which are based on some reviews on the swage sleeves breaking. I saw the quality of crimping and it ain't good but then again I can't fully argue because the item, after all, is cheap. But if oneself has the right tools and the right knowledge, it actually is repairable if that oneself has the right tool and knowledge. But again unfortunately not everyone has these. the second concern are the plastic spacers, the last time I've seen these was in kindergarten or grade school. They may break later down the road but again is repairable/replaceable just need to go to your local hardware store and get plastic spacers. But overall it is great, again I've yet to encounter any issues with this but hopefully not cause I've visually checked each thread/nut for damages or abnormalities so far looks good but physically I cannot yet say. And again if this ever breaks later down the road (way pass the eligibility of returns) then I can always purchase another one.

Belongs in every shop
Handy shop tool for checking common nut and bolt sizes, inch and metric. Well made, super fast shipping. Made in USA. Get one for your shop, hang it on a nail or wear around your neck. Super handy, you’ll wonder how you got along without one for so long. Great gift for anyone’s shop, they will thank you again and again.

Works great for determining bold size / thread pitch.
Has been hanging in my garage for many years. Works great for determining bold size / thread pitch. I use it to determine what size bolt I need before heading to the hardware store. Good value for the money and has saved me time over the years. Good finish and hasn't rusted.

High quality and great assortment
Missing a couple of the smallest and largest sizes, but has 99.99% of what I need. After seeing the prices for other similar units, I was expecting some issues with this one which was much cheaper, but I am absolutely tickled pink with it. I have been hoarding the odd nuts and bolts from about 20 years worth of projects, dreading the day of reckoning/sorting. In fact, I was very tempted to just toss them all out. Mind you, this was 20 years worth of spare nuts and bolts, so it was about 30 pounds of hardware in a dozen different coffee cans. I am so happy I decided to power through them with this to help the sorting. MUCH less traumatic than I had anticipated (but let's be real, it still sucks). I have hundreds of dollars worth of fasteners that are back in the parts bins, correctly sorted and labeled. This nut and bolt checker made it as painless as I think it possibly could be. I tossed a small carabiner on the wire loops and it allows me to hang it from the ceiling or sorting rack or wherever I am. Keep in mind that this, for me at least, is part of a larger organizing movement where I'm moving all my bits and parts into sortimo-style storage bins and racks. This is not a quick project, but it is an enormously satisfying one as I now have quick access to all my consumables where before I'd waste minutes/hours searching for the correct bolt/fastener/whatever. While this nut and bolt checker isn't the complete solution, it is certainly an important part of it. Highly recommend.
