Excellent dummy rounds for training or testing functions.
I like to keep a "dummy" magazine in my rifle when not in use, and I have been wanting to test the extractor on my rifle, and obviously, I would rather not do that in my house. I tried using polymer dummy rounds, but they get chewed up really fast, even the nicer, name-brand ones. I decided to give these a shot.PROSThey are very close to the same size as the 5.56 rounds I use, so they give a great feel for loading and chambering. This also ensures that the dummy round sits in the chamber just like a live round would, and extracts the same way a live round would. They weight probably half of what a real round weighs, which is nice because a fully loaded magazine with dummy rounds will not be overly cumbersome. It would be nice to have them be closer to the real weight however, for better weight training. The blue finish really helps these stand out against live rounds. I have had other dummy rounds that look far too close to live rounds for my comfort, which always makes me really nervous to dry-fire, or even cycle through rounds. Most dummy rounds come in either two, or five round packs. This has ten, which I really like. It's nice to be able to cycle through a lot of rounds, and sometimes it's nice to do it fast to try and simulate a jam. I'm honestly considering buying two more packs so I can fully load my dummy magazine.CONSThe light weight can be nice, but I will also count it as a con. I like that these are lightweight and manageable, but it would be nice to have dummy rounds closer to the weight of live rounds, so I could get a more accurate feel for the real weight. The blue finish is nice, but after only a few cycles, the finish is coming off of the bottom of the round, most likely being chipped by the extractor. It's really a cosmetic issue, but it gives the rounds a cheaper overall feeling.VERDICTOverall, these are great dummy rounds/snap caps/training rounds. They fit well in P-mags, they chamber and extract exactly like they should, they help train on jams and using the forward assist, and they look distinctly different than live rounds, so they are not easily mistaken. The fact that there's ten in the pack is a plus, it would just be nice if they were heavier, and had a better finish on them. They're well worth the purchase.

Beat training aid for the money!
If you have multiple people you want to train at once, buying these in bulk to practice clearing malfunctions and understanding rifle operation is the best deal ive found! Durable pieces so far.

Perfect for training!
Zero complaints. Fit just fine in AR-15 platform & cycle great. Perfect for function checks, dry fire, and training purposes in general. Would definitely recommend & buy again!

Not bad, but they don't reliably feed through my bolt action rifle
These are nice generally, but they do not always feed perfectly in my rifle. My 223 bolt action rifle has relatively tight tolerances, but it was disappointing to not have a clean cycling of all 10 rounds in the magazine every time, using these dummy rounds.

The first and most important accessory for new gun owners.
When I had left the Gun store with my rifle I had purchased some similar snap caps (dummy bullets like this for double the price that came in a package 2! The ones here on Amazon are a great value as you get 10 of them. This is a great value. These are paramount for new gun owners. They help you get familiar with the operation of your firearm and allows you to safely practice without the use of live rounds. For the life of me I cannot understand why they would not be the first accessory recommendation of a new gun owner. The more of these you have the better. You can practice dry firing and quick reloads. If your smart you’ll use them to intentionally cause a double feed (a jam where a bullet has not ejected properly from the barrel and another bullet has been pushed against in the reloading process) and then learn how to clear it all in the safety and privacy of your own home. This is great and in my opinion the first accessory you should purchase for any fire arm.

***Cycle fine in my AR***
I have not experience a single issue with these snap caps in my AR15.For the small percentage of reviewers complaining about the dummy rounds jamming in their receivers, I highly recommend that they pull their BCGs out and inspect their feed ramps. If you're having feeding issues with inert dummy rounds, that is usually a sign that your upper receiver does not have feed ramps OR the feed ramps on your barrel extension are not aligned properly with the ramps that are cut into your upper receiver and the tips of the dummy rounds are catching on the lips of the ramps. As for a product review, these do what they're supposed to do. My wife doesn't go to the range nearly as much as I do, and when she does she is usually just there with her handgun. Although she has shot a couple hundred rounds through an AR, she never really learned how to manipulate it. This became very apparent one evening when we were talking about home invasions and she pointed at our AR and asked what she needed to do in order to use it. We loaded up two magazines with these (I had two packs) and I had her sit there and just work the weapon, over and over again. Inserting mags, charging the weapon, ejecting mags, manually locking the bolt back, releasing the bolt, loading mags with the rounds, trigger work, safety selector, ect. In just one sitting she went from being timid and clueless to being able to lock a bolt open, inserting a mag, slamming the bolt home, and bringing the rifle to bear without hardly any thought...all without firing a single real cartridge during her training. Now when she goes to the range with the AR she is a completely different and more confident shooter who understands the rifle much more and is not afraid to operate the weapon.

Third time I've ordered these, they work great!
These are great for testing the action on a rifle, or teaching someone how to operate the gun. Bright blue to identify non-firing ammo. They have never jammed in any of the guns I've put them through. Confident to dry fire as the primer area is rubber. Latest set is for a Christmas gift to go along with a new AR for a first time owner.
