Essentials of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management 7th Edition

I am an experienced manager who had worked for a huge company for over thirty years. Recently I decided to completely change industries (from electronics and software to food service), and from working for a multi-billion dollar company to creating and managing my own small business. To that end I am taking an entrepreneurship and small biz mgt course at a local community college. This is the required text. I am loving this book. Although I am only 100 or so pages in to it, I find it relevant, easy to read, enjoyable, even entertaining. Long ways from most textbooks! In fact, I just recommended it as a great source to read while I waited as my car's oil was being changed. Have you ever recommended a college textbook to a stranger because it was great? Me neither, 'til now. Since it is used as a textbook, it is pricey, but I bet you can find it used on Amazon (which is where I bought it new since it was over $50 less than the bookstore wanted). Although it may not have all the very current examples, you might get most of the content in a previous edition for very little money.

This book is like the perfect guide to business success, even if the business is still at the idea stage. From helping you develop ideas, to knowing whether the idea is viable, to the course of action whether or not the idea was viable, and how to move forward. I would recommend this book to anyone, even someone who already has an established business.

Great book, I had to read this for a business class of mine and I am glad that our teacher picked a book that really was easy to understand all of the concepts about entrepreneurship. I had my own small business and I used this book for whenever I had an issue and I needed some clarification on. I would recommend to buy this book if you don't have it, and for the people that already have it but want to get rid of it, I wouldn't. The reason being is that it is very good to be able to refer back to a book that teaches you the basics of entrepreneurship and small business management.

Wow. If you are thinking of starting a business, buying a business or if you are undecided, this book will be a valuable asset. In dept, rich, insightful, clear, applicable. It will stay on my bookshelf, the one right beside my desk.Cant say enough good things. Great book well written, well organized, flows, good vision...Yes, I recommend it.

I chose this rating because it gives me insight on what it takes to be an entrepreneur. What I like about this book are the stories about how different people started their businesses and how it made them and their businesses successful.

Rented this for substantially less than what my coollege bookstore wanted to sell it for. Not in the best shape but it’s a used rental so what do you expect.

this book provides lots of information on owning your own business. It outlines the different types of establishments such as sole proprietorship and franchising. I have not finished reading the book, but looking forward to the useful information
