a lot of fun
I read this because I wanted to read the book before I watched the film. Alex is the son of the US president and he's half Mexican. Henry is the 'spare' prince of England. Their romance is completely adorable. There was quite a lot of politics in this book, which was stripped down in the film. Whilst I could take or leave the details about how US politics works, I did think the close run political race made the climax of the book much more gripping than the film. The characters were a lot of fun and I enjoyed this book immensely.

Best book I've ever read
Adored this book and have read it multiple times. There's always something new to discover that you may have skimmed over or not appreciated in the first read - this book has depth! Such an amazing story and characters to fall in love with, and the dialogue is superbly crafted. Literally cannot recommend this book enough. I have purchased the collector's edition as well for the extra chapter at the end told from Henry's perspective. Casey McQuiston is a genius.

4 stars 2.5 spice
4 stars 2.5 spiceSo I started reading this because the film came out. It was on my radar before but I didn't really think to read it until I realised the film came out and I hadn't read the book so with a little peer pressure I read it and these are my thoughts. The plotThis book starts off with Alex the first son of the USA ( the presidents son if you didint know) and Henry the Prince of England who have this rivalry thing going on. So this is an enemies to lovers trope however if you read it then you know this doenst really last long. Anyway after a public scandle these two have to fake being best friends which leads to them eventually becoming more than friends.... you know. Now my thoughts. I loved the relationship in this is was so sweet exactly what I wanted and some of the scenes in this book had me tearing up and their timeline was also perfect. The individual characters as well just amazing. With all of that this book is written in third person so it can be quite hard to follow along with and understand what's going on and when there's dialogue who's speaking. I also didn't really like the politics in this book. The politics to relationship ratio is like 40:60 so it isn't the entire book but still takes up a good chunk. Now ✨️the spice✨️ if you could call it that. I've read quite a lot of spice in books and I can say this is the strangest spice I've ever read becuse it's more descriptive than graphic and since it's written in third person you don't really get a sence on what they're feeling and thinking.Overall I really enjoyed this book and when I watched the film and realised how people felt when they watched Harry Potter slightly disappointed excited and confused.

Great Book, terrible delivery!
This book has been bought on the basis of some great recommendations from friends. Unfortunately it was delivered behind a garden gate in the rain and not through the letterbox as described by AMazon.Amazon are normally great, this was very poor.

Addictive writing and very funny
I started reading this in July and was set to finish it before the end of the month but then my fur baby passed away and I’ll hold my hands up and say reading was not my top priority for a good week. So, I put RW&RB down at around the 40% mark to focus on my well-being and processing what had happened. Now up until that point I was absolutely loving this read and powering through it. I started the read on the evening July 27th and by bedtime on the 28th I was already at page 174 which is super quick for me to be getting through a book, especially around work.Red, White and Royal Blue is essentially what it says on the tin, like with most romance books you always know what you’re getting from the cover and the synopsis. In relation to the plot as a whole I wasn’t super surprised by the way things go down. Books like this are all about the feel good factor, the humour, the love overcoming obstacles and a good dollop of drama. And RW&RB does not disappoint on those factors! The writing style is super easy to read and very difficult not to enjoy. The humour is well presented, and I found myself chuckling/laughing throughout the read. I found when I picked this book back up August 3rd that the writing style really helped me during those sad moments in my real life, it eased some of the pain and put a little smile back on my face. If you’re going through a tough time and need a light easy read with some humour in it then this is a book to consider. What I will say about the writing is that Casey is not afraid of some naughty language, if you aren’t a fan of swearing and some sexual references maybe look to avoid this book cause our Texas MC Alex, has a bit of dirty mouth of him.Like I’ve said the plot is as you’d expect from a typical romance, the only difference is that the lover are two young men which I adored. I really love seeing LGBTQ+ representation in books because they should have the same stories and adventures written about them as straight people too. And because the book uses the frequently seen Prince Charming, like an actual Prince, it is refreshing to see this sort of plot with two male characters.I did find it quite odd that the entire British Royal family is completely fictional, apart from Henry who is quite obviously based on Prince Harry. Prince Harry if he had been gay. And that the references to previous US Presidents were actually historically correct. Like it really bugged me out for a bit. Why not either fictionalise both the Royal Family and the previous President? Or use the real Royal Family with reference to real previous presidents? I understood from references to previous Presidents and their family held a significant value in relation to the context they were spoken about and as the overall vibe of the book is that it’s written more for an American audience I could see why the author may have kept the US History aspect. The characters are fun and quirky. Alex the MC I can see some readers struggling to build a connection with him as he is quite obnoxious, but his journey of self-discovery does feel genuine and realistic for his character. Casey also wrote him so that you can see his underlying insecurities which is what makes the more obnoxious behaviour makes sense and makes Alex feel more real, but you need to read a chunk of the book to get there. Prince Henry is what everyone would expect of a Royal Prince in his behaviour and mannerism. As we get to know more of him I really like the way he was developed as a character throughout. I also really enjoyed all the side characters and how they added to the story, they all had a purpose and weren’t just in the story for convenience.Overall, I super enjoyed reading this book considering the circumstance I read the last 60% through. It proved to be a really good distraction from my own sadness. It’s a funny entertaining read. If you want a really easy read, where you kind of know what to expect that you’ll find enjoyable and make you laugh here it is. If you’re having a tough time and want a distraction this book is a go too.

One hell of a wild ride!!
As books go, this one was a little slow out of the gate--set up and exposition usually is. But, like a few other books I've ready, your patience will be rewarded. Once the two men come together, this takes off at a gallop and it's one hell of a wild ride, for sure.Alex Claremont-Diaz is the son of the first woman president in the history of the US. His sworn, mortal enemy is Prince Henry of Wales in the UK. These two have had a tempestuous relationship since their first meeting and nothing has changed. Or has it? A fiasco at the wedding of Prince Philip, Henry's brother,--the two having a squabble at the reception ends up with them both in the cake. Literally--turns into an international incident. President's answer--you go there and make nice. OR ELSE!! Alex is determined to make the best of it and decides that the only way they can convince the world that they're besties is to start texting. Seeing each other socially on occasion. But friendship has a way of turning into something deeper. And there are always consequences to becoming lovers in a public forum. The two are a study in opposites. Alex is a foul mouthed, rebellious son with charisma and real love for the world of politics. He's an idealist who believes in doing good for the people. He's free, if not closeted and questioning. Henry is a true child of royalty, restricted and confined. He's always known who he is and he's not questioning, but he's closeted in more ways that one. Henry is also charismatic and a major romantic. Together, these two are madly in love and afraid of the world at the same time. Watching this play out between them brought me to giggles at times and tears at times. I got so deeply involved with their story that I pretty much forgot MY life. The pacing is delicious. Watching the romance bloom and blossom was perfect. The romance itself flowed along a logical progression of events without losing that sense of the romantic. They learn about each other in intimate terms. Nothing is glossed over, nothing is left out. And when the relationship turns physical, it's tasteful and so damn hot that I busted out a sweat, then had a drink and a cigarette.Ms. Mcquiston has turned out a brilliant book, a great read, and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. This weekend, I plan on watching the movie. I hope it's as faithful to the book as I want it to be.In the meantime, five out of five stars. A must read for anyone--even if you're not into LGBTQ lit. If you want a great love story, this is just the thing.

Romance Encantador, Porém o livro veio RASGADO, AMASSADO E RISCADO

The media could not be loaded.
