Q: Where do you find these batteries? Can anyone recommend a good rechargeable poi set?

Each LED POI is powered by 3 x LR44 batteries which allow it to shine brightly for about 10 hours. The lid is on the bottom of the POI. Open the small case with a screwdriver to change the batteries, it's really easy.

Q: Do the poi balls come with any directions on how to get started with basics, etc.?

No but YouTube has lots of beginner videos. Lots of fun
