I’ve become a fan of these lipsticks over the past year. If you aren’t familiar with this kind of lip product, it’s worth checking out if you like sheer, balmy feeling lipsticks with a matte, blurring finish. These feel substantial on your lips, like a waxy balm, but with a nice sheer coverage of color. They are matte but I don’t find them to be drying. I like that the color payoff can be built by adding another layer. Longevity is average, just about the same as a typical bullet lipstick. I now own three of these with the nude/bare shade being my most recent addition. I started off with Homecoming Queen, which is a more vibrant pink than the picture shows. It’s still sheer and doesn’t read “bright” on your lips. I then got I’m Shy, which is my favorite and is basically a nude rose shade that is very close to my lip color. The last one is called bare something I think, it’s a neutral nude shade that is a bit lighter than I’m Shy but honestly has a similar look on my lips. Overall, these are really great and the cost is fantastic.

Shade “I’m Shy” is a perfect MLBB (my lips but better). It’s my holy grail casual lip look! It has a powdery, velvety feel on the lips. It looks blurred and subtle with one swipe. With two or three it gets more vibrant and obvious that you’re wearing something. Matte without being drying but it’s not moisturizing. So if your lips are dry it’d be good to put on a chapstick before applying this. I’ve found that layering this on top of cherry Chapstick (the brand) or EOS chapstick blends perfectly well. I love this so much that it’s my daily wear. I bought a second one as a back up in case it gets discontinued. It wears nicely and lasts a good amount of time, but does come off if you eat greasy food. And I wouldn’t call it long wear. But it fades so evenly! No need to blot after applying. Very forgiving, and not messy except for one thing: it broke off near the base and fell out of the tube without having been dropped! All I did was I happened to turn it upside down while I was getting the cap to put it back on. Luckily it just fell into my lap and I was able to pop it right back in. I thought maybe it was a fluke but this also happened with my other shade, Homecoming Queen. So I am bummed about that, but the formula and price is so good that I don’t care.

Got homecoming Queen. I like the feel and the sheerness, feels like Glossiers Gen X lipstick, however the color was much more red than I was looking for - the color swatches looked more like jammy, berry, purply red but the actual color is more of a bright berry red with no purple

The color Homecoming Queen was pretty enough on my extremely fair skin. I liked the sort of creamy powdery feel with no stickiness, but I’m not sure about longevity or moisturizing capability since I didn’t wear it long. It was unfortunately patchy no matter how much or little I wore. I really wanted to love it since the feel of it is nice and unique. I was also a bit annoyed because the slant of the lipstick wasn’t lined up properly with the slant of the tube, so I ended up having to cut it down and waste product so I could use it.

“I’m Shy” is a beautiful nude/natural color on me. I do not like nudes that look like foundation or erase the lips. This, to me, looks like my lips but better. I love the formula. It’s creamy and smoothing, reduces the appearances of chapped lips. There’s a soft pleasant scent. It isn’t sticky at all and lasts a couple of hours. I am totally fine with reapplying this though. It feels very light and nice on my lips. I can see this color being flattering on a lot of different skin tones. I have spent A LOT more on high end lipsticks and this formula is just as good. I can’t say that about all drug store brands or even other Wet and Wild lipsticks but this blurring one is everything. I’m going to buy some more right now and highly recommend you give this a try. I am 57 and didn’t have foundation on in this pic. Unfortunately I didn’t take it in the best lighting. Sorry. I hope you can still get an idea. My skin tone is fair with an olive undertone. I can usually wear both cool and warm colors but this one definitely is warm toned lipstick. It’s even slightly orange toned but in a good way. Hope this helps someone! Maybe like a light, soft, brick red even.
