Good seeds.
Great seeds for the cost. The project was to grow a Joshua Tree in Maryland. They are about 3 inches tall now.

Every Seed Sprouted!
These sprouted within days when put between damp paper towel and kept in a plastic bag on a warm counter top. So far they are all still growing in peat pods and will be transplanted to larger pots in a few days. This was better results than I expected! I only hope some of them continue to grow.

Great seeds!
After 2 weeks kept on a shelf around 80°, I put them in damp paper towels and covered them in darkness. 24 hours later, 8 had sprouted and #9 sprouted after another 24 hours. I planted them, as you can see, and they are growing slowly. One of the best looking, full seeds never germinated, but I stuck it in dirt and will see if it ever does. Overall, I highly recommend these seeds. 5 seeds looked bad at first sight, kind of wrinkled, skinny and small, but they DID germinate just as fast and well as the big healthy looking ones. 9 out of 10 seeds germinating is better than I ever expected.

They germinated! Here's some tips for planting!
I'm happy with this purchase. I received 10 seeds ranging from really healthy looking seeds (large & thick) to a few where you could look at them and just tell they were not going to germinate (smaller & thinner than average). To get a head start on germination, I soaked all 10 seeds in a wet paper towel and kept them on a heated mat for about 4 days. I was hoping to get a taproot to show itself, before planting, but none ever showed. On day 5, I decided to put the seeds into moistened root riot cubes, domed and on a heated mat. By around day 10/11, I finally saw some life in them! Of the 10 seeds, I have 3 growing in 4" cups. After this round, I learned a few things that might help you with increasing your success rate.Lessons Learned:1. Place Seed Taproot UP - I've always planted seeds so that a taproot would travel DOWN into the soil, however, I read somewhere on the web (desertplants .org) that Joshua Tree seeds should be planted so the taproot can travel UP. Since I couldn't find any consistent information on which way to direct taproots, I decided to go half up, and half down in the Root Riot cubes. I now know firsthand from this experiment that Joshua Tree seeds will indeed travel UP FIRST, break the surface, make a u-turn, then back through the surface to establish itself as a plant. You can see the seedling do this in one of the pictures. Amazing!2. Make Root Riot Holes Larger - In nature, a little seed in soil/sand likely may have been able to adjust itself to make its taproot go in the correct direction. However, since I used Root Riot cubes with tiny pre-made holes, and because Joshua Tree seeds are somewhat large and flat, the seeds were held very snug in place. I found out later after breaking apart a few of the Root Riot cubes that there were more than just 3 seeds that germinated, but because some seeds were planted incorrectly and held tightly in place by the Root Riot cubes, they just didn't have the power to adequately adjust themselves.

So I've planted them and so far none have sprouted ( I soaked some and planted others straight from the pack) I sort of bought these as a novilty after a trip to Vegas and thinking the trees were super cool. I still have two seeds left to try. I suspect its my brown thumb and the Reno climate that is keeping them from growing, but it was fun to try. Nothing seems wrong with the product. Thank You

Perfect!
I got the 10 pack of joshua tree seeds and didn't review right away because i wanted to make sure they grew. I planted 5 right away and they all grew and now i planted the other 5 and 4 already popped up in less than a week! Very happy with the quality of the seeds!
