So far, so good, but be careful!
We have been using this liner in our Breville Smart Oven on a daily basis for more than 12 weeks now. I have made roasts, baked pies, and done simple toasting, baked frozen pizzas as well as baked cookies in it. Bake times have been at 350˚ F for an hour or more on some occasions. I have also used the 450˚ F heat setting for at least 25 minutes. I just finished inspecting this liner for "white spots" or other evidence of burns, and I found none. It has handled drips from various foods (sticky or oily) and has simply wiped clean with a dry cloth. There has never been an odor that we could detect, and our small dogs seem fine. I mention the dry cloth and the small dogs for a reason. As far as I can tell, it is probably not wise to use cleaners or submerge this item in water for cleaning. It may trap pockets of water or cleaning solution that can cause the liner to "bubble up" in heat the next time it's used (much like the water inside a popcorn kernel puffs out the kernel when it is heated). The small dogs are mentioned, because teflon produces toxic fumes to small animals. BIRDS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO THESE FUMES. Most experienced bird owners know not to use teflon at high heat temperatures because THEIR BIRDS WILL DIE when exposed to these fumes. I'm not sure about other small animals and small children, but using the "canary in the mine shaft" principle, what is not good for the canary must also be not good for small animals and small children. As for those people who have tried ordering their liner "a little big" and cutting it down to size, this may actually also damage the liner by exposing the inner fiberglass lining by "rough" scissor edges creating fiberglass dust. As a basic rule, most drippings are going to fall where the food is located, most food will not touch the sides of the oven. Big "boil overs" are going to smoke and be a big mess no matter what. Avoid having to cut the liner by measuring and then ordering the right size to begin with. If the heating elements are too close to the liner, fire is possible. This seems logical. It is also possible to set aluminum foil on fire, and those fumes are toxic as well. Anything that burns will produce smoke, and nothing in that smoke is safe to breathe. If aluminum foil has been working fine in your toaster oven, and the manufacturer says it is an acceptable liner, then continue to use that. Breville warns that aluminum foil in their smart oven is a safety hazard, so we don't use foil. So far, so good with our liner. I will continue to use caution and inspect this item on a regular basis for signs of wear and tear (or burning as our case might be). The bottom of our oven has stayed clean and free of burn marks from this liner. Anything on the bottom of the oven that burns or catches fire is going to leave a mark. The general rule here would be: don't leave your home unattended while a toaster oven is in use. If you smell smoke, turn it off immediately, and inspect the liner for fire damage. Be aware that ANY teflon product used with heat can be toxic to birds, and possibly toxic to small animals and small children. So far, so good, but be careful!

Time Saver; Fantastic Product
This is an excellent product if directions for use are followed, and a real time saver when oven spills do occur. This is my second one, and replacing the exact same one that has been in my electric convection oven for more than 4 years. While I don't heat-up my oven everyday, it has gotten plenty of use over the years. The existing one was still useable but was starting to breakdown.First, don't confuse this oven liner as being a silicone mat. It is not. But compared to other oven liners, this one is about 3X thickness as compared to some of those flimsy ones for sale. In a rush and not doing my homework ahead of time, I purchased the Handy Gourmet JB6154 Non Stick Oven Liner since it was then rated 4.7* as compared to 3.9* for this one. The Handy Gourmet is about as thin as a black trash bag, and will crumple downward if held at the long end whereas Chef's Planet holds level if emptying crumbs. Most of the 1* reviews for this product are related to using the 11" oven liner in conjunction with a toaster oven. I don't know if a different set of instructions come with the smaller sized liner that specifically address use in toaster ovens. But the Chef's Planet "Important Use & Care Instructions" for the larger 30" size seem clear to me, especially in the context of a regular sized oven. If the same set of instructions ship with either size, that might be causing some problems. Specifically, my Breville® BOV800XL Convection Toaster Oven has no bottom wire rack. There are small rods about 1/8" above the quartz heating elements, and I'm sure a fire hazard would be created if any oven liner was placed so close to heating elements, regardless of oven type. If wanting to use this liner in my toaster oven, the fix is to buy a second wire rack from Breville ($12.99) to place the oven liner on which would raise it about 1" from the heating elements.Extremely satisfied with Chef's Planet(tm) Non-Stick Oven Liner, and I would not hesitate to buy this product again.

It's better than ok
It's a plastic or plastic like sheet that can be cut to fit your broil pan or roasting pan, it's small so maybe it won't even fit your oven pan but I got the mini oven so at least it fit. Kind of wvorks. It's an extra bother. It still allows drippings to go around it and dirty the pan, although less.Update 3 to two starsIt's a weird material, the normal grime cleans easy but if you roast meat the fat is hard to come off. You won't see it but you can feel it, there is as a slime you can't get off without a lot of pain. The next time you roast it probably kills the bacteria and salmonella so maybe it's safe.Updated to 4 starsOk I'm nuts but the more I used it the more I liked it. I found if I use a plastic scrub pad on it, the blue ones that have soap in them, it cleans easy. What I've said above is true but the test is not how it does by itself but is it better with it or without it. Now that I can clean it easily, I'd say its better than ok

Makes oven cleaning a dream!
I had these in my last home as they made cleaning the oven so easy. I just moved and bought them immediately for my new home.

High Quality Liner
I have used these liners for years. The last one I bought did not hold up well, so I checked around before purchasing this one to make sure it was better quality than the last one because it did not hold up as well. During all the years of using these, I have NEVER placed the liners on the bottom rack. In fact, to save on cleaning the racks, I only keep one rack in my oven except when I have company and need to use all the racks. Therefore, I have always used them on the bottom of my oven. I have a convection oven, so I have no exposed heating elements, and I have never had a problem with using the liners on the bottom. Even though the instructions say to use on the bottom rack, I will continue to do as I have through the years and put it on the bottom. The quality of this liner seems thicker and better than the ones I have used in the past.
