Regularmente me tardo de una hora a dos planchandome el pelo, y esto me cambia toda la vida, me la facilita!! I love it, it gives me silk press quality so much faster than a normal flat iron. I tried it on my kid who has kinkier hair than me (she’s 4a-4b). It didn’t get her hair as straight as I hoped but it did enough for me to be able to give her a trim. However, I didn’t use the highest temp with her to prevent too much damage so maybe that’s why. It gets reallllyyy hot and I didn’t wanna hurt her scalp so the roots were not as straight as the rest of the hair. Keep that in mind if you’re buying it for young kids. Comes with safety gloves which are helpful because it did burn my hand a little but not too crazy. Also, you will have to refill the small water tank a few times. My head takes about 2-3 times with 3c hair. My kid had to have it refilled 3-4 times because her hair is thicker and took more time. Btw Black/African girlies - blow dry hair really good first to get that silky look, that’s what helped me and my baby.

I have long (mid-back), SUPER THICK, Type 4C hair ... it's serious. It takes 4 hours to wash/dry and straighten my hair. I used to have a regular silk press appointment, but most of the stylists in my area are focused on weave installations because they make more money vs. styling natural hair (I don't like it...but I get it). :/ So, I'm usually stuck trying to do my hair myself and it's a pain. I tire out mid-way through and my only motivation is that if I don't finish, I risk looking like Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable (no offense...luv you Sammy...DC all the way Baby!). But that is NOT work appropriate for me. I experimented with a couple of straightener brushes and found that method works well for me, but still takes a lot of time and I have to work it through a few times to get my hair super straight and shiny. However, THIS little miracle is so easy to use, and the steam feature makes my hair so silky and shiny on the FIRST pass through. I'm hooked! I bought this because I started highlighting my hair and it has helped tremendously with mitigating that damage while still allowing me to keep my hair looking smooth. The heat level options are great. My sister got one after me and she uses the higher heat to get done faster, but still not the highest level. The design looks good and works effectively.
