Lipedema - The Disease They Call FAT: An Overview for Clinicians Paperback – September 26, 2017

While I understand this was written for clinicians, this book should be for every person who has lipedema. It really tells you what you need to help with everything that goes with lipedema. Catherine Seo is a remarkable researcher who also has lipedema. Her breakthrough book and findings have helped many who have had their doctors tell them they're fat, need to exercise more, etc.

I have purchased several of these books for the medical providers I've been to who sadly have not heard of this condition yet. 🤷‍♀️

Wonderfully written and illustrated guide for the health professional looking to learn how to help patients with this disease. If you suspect you have lipedema and need to educate your physician and others on your health care team, this book is head and shoulders above the alternative of handing your doctor a file of research articles. Lipedema - The Disease They Call FAT is a perfect conversation starter and hopefully it will help to get you the medical treatment you deserve.

I was honestly surprised at how thin this book was for the cost. It was well made and high quality paper, and it is informative for clinicians. My fault for not looking at the "length" of the book prior to purchase. Overall it's been useful to bring to appointments as a reference for doctors not educated on lipedema, but I hope that some of the proceeds go toward a lipedema cause of some sort for the price point.

I wished the book were longer! More doctors need to know about lymphedema and lipedema and how these two diseases present in the body. This book covers the problems getting doctors to recommend therapies for those with lipedema and treating the disease properly, when in the earlier phases. Much more research in this area is needed!

I bought this to bring to my doctor so she could read up on the disease and help me navigate treatment. She found it helpful and so I intend to share and bring to every doctor appointment.

I am newly diagnosed with lipedema and this book is an invaluable resource for my research. It is geared more towards clinicians but is filled with excellent resources throughout for further information. Highly recommend to help understand a very misunderstood and under diagnosed disease.
