Just finished a 1lt bottle of this Russian brand
This vodka is the real deal that is stilled near ST Petersberg (formely Leningrad). So, some complain that it's only 38% rather than the 40% that many other brands produce but there is a reason. Most vodkas that are distilled to 40% alcohol are not the real deal, they are copies. For the real vodka and the best flavour I find it best to stick to Russian and Eastern European. This Russian vodka is distilled from Russian Winter Wheat, whereas the copies tend to be distilled from cheaper and more inferior produce such as rye grass. This vodka is warming from the back of the throat down to the stomach, it has that natural bitterness that gives spirits the kick that we like. It's a pleasant vodka and I do prefer this neat as any good spirit should be. The more mixers in a spirit the lower the alcohol and the larger the loss of flavour. When it comes to vodka in particular many may as well simply have a glass of orange juice as the vodka cant be tasted due to it being so diluted. One thing most people do not quite grasp about spirits is that if I get a 1/2 pint of any spirit and it is 40%, then Iadd the same volume, 1/2 pint of vodka with 1/2 pint of a mixer and the alcohol content is reduced to 20%. Should 1 pint of mixer be added to the 1/2 of spirit the alcohol content reduces to 15%. Basically, the higher the amount of non-alcoholic mixers, the lower the alcohol in the drink. So, if you are one of those complaining about it only being 38% then consider how much weaker it is because you add non-alcoholic liquid to it. For a good vodka, it should be distilled from wheat, for gin the best ingresient is sloe and a good barley for a good whisky. Any nation that does not grow the traditional ingredient of a spirit makes copies using other produce of which some do good copies but most do poor ones. This vodka is very good quality, I have no complaints about the 1lt bottle of this that has just finished. It is flavoursome and has that kick that's expected. It's excellent when drank neat but fine with mixers, especially orange juice. I am recommending this Russian vodka as it is very good quality and it is good value especailly when considering it's the real deal that is made from Russian Winter Wheat and not rye grass. This is my 2nd bottle of this brand and I'm sure I will be purchasing more of it.... again.

The best vodka in the world.
OK well maybe not the best in the world. Perhaps there's one better. But I'm yet to find it. This is the vodka I yearn for. Oh how I've missed it ! It's been absent from supermarkets and now its here on amazon. It has a clean, silky, almost creamy taste. The only vodka I would dream of drinking straight on the rocks. My two other favourite ways to drink it are in the form of a Moscow Mule or as a Caipiroska. High quality, bar-setting, superb vodka.

A lovely drop, nice n syrupy for mixers n cocktails when frozen
I already liked this brand of vodka and saw this on a deal. I like making cocktails and using in cold mixers, has been a bbq addition bargain. Best used from the freezer I find, the liquid thickens but doesn't freeze if its genuine vodka. This had a great texture when poured, and my espresso martinis were great with this voddy.
