Good Halal casings
Got these casings because they are Halal (and do not contain any pork products) but they do contain animal products with cellulose. So it is not Vegan. Easy to use and adds no significant flavor to your sausage. These are very nice sausage casings that will need to be soaked in warm water for at least 5 minutes before using. If you do not soak them enough, it will be difficult to work with and you will not be able to twist it.They are sturdy enough that they did not pop while filling. Smooth texture as well. It has a long shelf life and is reasonably priced making it a good value.

Good for beginners
I'm a beginner at making sausages, and thought I would go with collagen casings until I get the hang of making sausages before I try using natural casings. This casing is very generous at about 46 feet long -- that's a lot of sausages! This casing is not vegan friendly but is halal friendly and doesn't contain pork. I think it's great quality and it doesn't add any strange flavors to your sausages. Just follow the directions and soak in warm water until soft enough to use. It's very easy to use as long as you don't overfill. The 1" inch diameter size I think is about right for making venison sausages, hot dogs and at around $10 for one of these I think it's a good price.

Worked Great
I used these collagen casings to make a batch of homemade chorizo and Cumberland sausages, and they performed really well. The casing was easy to work with—I soaked it briefly in warm water as recommended, and it became flexible and ready to use within minutes. The 28mm diameter was perfect for sausage links and the 46-foot roll gave me plenty to work with. I'm still a beginner at making sausages, but the final product held up well during stuffing and cooking, with no breakage as long as I followed the tip to avoid overfilling or overheating.

Nasty rubber-like stuff

Smells weird & made from cowhide
It had a bad smell at first—I rinsed it a couple of times and the smell went away, but after cooking, I could still taste it. Stuffing it was easy, but the casing was so tough and thick that I couldn’t twist it into individual sausages, even after leaving it in the fridge overnight. I had to use ties instead, and unfortunately, the taste still wasn’t good. Also it is made from cowhide so unless that cow is halal this is not halal.
