Perfect for my desired use
The media could not be loaded. Got this for woodland observations. Not happy with a smartphone plugin unit so I upgraded to a better sensor. Figured I wouldn’t need the best one (640?) but the 384 seems perfect for seeing more than a blob out to 100 yds. This way I can see if there’s a human, deer or coyote that far out instead of simply getting a heat signature. First night I had it, I happened to spot 3 deer at 78 yds and it was easy to tell what they were along with a smaller animal with them. Canine but odd if it was a coyote. The hot spot cursor really picked up on the deer even before I knew they were in frame, even with brush 20 yds away from me and between me and the deer. The wifi gave me trouble until I realized I need to reboot the unit after enabling the wifi. Now there’s no trouble connecting.I’m very happy with the unit.

Awesome except
This is awesome. but i did have a problem. The wall charger supplied was defective. luckily i have a friend with one. We plugged it in to his charger and it charged just fine. I had another charger rated the same as the defective one and now it charges just fine. Again this thing is awesome. I use it for short to medium range viewing from my tree stands. You can identify deer out to 300 yards. I love checking my area before walking in and before climbing down.

Superior in design and operation, superior in price
The performance of this thermal imager is comparable to those at twice the price, while the light weight, battery life (7+ hours, which I tested), and simplicity of use are superior. Simplicity is especially valuable when working in the dark. I'm very happy with this gadget, which is not the first thermal I've bought, but it is the one I now reach for. While noting that this model is not optimized for long-range use, the deer in the image was over 100 yards away and easily identified.

Check out the Taipan TM15-384
I compared the Asp-Micro TM384 to the Taipan TM19-384.The Taipan TM19 has additional diopter adjustment range over the Asp which I needed, being nearsighted. The Taipans also has a much larger viewing screen, which I prefer by far. It's much easier to see.The screen's resolution is also higher on the Taipan. The Asp-Micro has a magnification of about 0.8x (they claim 1x but it's actually a little less). The Taipans come in a few magnifications such as 1.5x, 1.9x, and 2.5x.The TM19 is 1.9x.The Taipans (except the TM15) also have a front focus adjustment while the Asp doesn't.However, the Asp has a much lower magnification. This is better for quick scans of an area as it has a wider field of view. The 1.5x Taipan TM15-384 has a similar field of view, so I would consider that one over the Asp if using for short range viewing.Since the focus is fixed with the Asp and Taipan TM15-384, they're easier to use quickly since you don't need to constantly adjust the focus for different ranges. They are also slightly more compact since they doesn't have the extra focus ring at the end.Since the Taipans (except the TM15) have adjustable focus, they can be focused out further or closer than the Asp can, out to infinity and down to about 2 feet. The Asp needs about 8 feet minimum to look good. The images I provided show the difference in close focus (about 2.5 feet away) as well as what a deer looks like at about 100 yards away, which is pretty similar. The adjustable focus and additional magnification of the Taipan TM19 don't add that much to long range viewing, maybe increasing identification range by about 20%.So if you just need something to scan with quickly, then I would recommend the Taipan TM15-384.If you want to be able to see closer and further away a bit better, but don't mind needing to adjust the focus or having a narrower field of view, then I'd recommend the TM19-384 with its adjustable focus.

Awesome
Bought here on Amazon via Focuscamera. This thermal is great. Better value than the Flir Breach. I used a kiloohm bridge mount that I got on etsy, works great. The thermal actually does a good job at helmet use. Everything exceeded my expectations.
