PSLER Backrest Sissy Bar with Luggage Rack Backrest Pad for VStar 400 650 Classic Dragstar 400 650 Classic 1998-2018 and for Vstar XVS650A 1999

I received this today, and will be installing it on my bike tonight. Upon unboxing, the items were individually wrapped very well, but no instructions were included. It's a fairly simple item, so it shouldn't be hard to figure it out using just the pictures from the Amazon listing. The components seem quite sturdy, I don't expect to have any problems with it. The one thing I'm really disappointed about is that it clearly indicates the back pad is supposed to have a leather cover, and it doesn't. While the cover looks nice, it's just cheap vinyl. Also, the screws to hold the backrest pad on appear to be simple wood screws, and are long enough that they may very well poke the passenger through the cover. I will have to find new screws to keep from stabbing my wife in the back. Normally I would send this back and find another one, but I'm pressed for time, so it's going to get installed.Update: Installation took about an hour, due to the very poor fitment of the components to each other. The brackets that mount to the bike fit perfectly and installed quickly, but the other parts had to be muscled and bent into place due. I was able to do the job myself, but an extra set of hands would have helped a bit. Once installed and tightened down, the entire assembly was very secure, though there is some slack in the bolt holes, allowing the back rest and cargo shelf to move slightly. I still give it 3 stars, since it gets the job done and adds safety and functionality to the bike. If the pieces had fit together better, and if the backrest were leather ad advertised, I would have rated it higher.

Missing bolts, screws, washers and instructions. Looks like it would probably fit if I had hardware but there's no way of knowing for sure. Will be returning. This is the second time I've ordered this through Amazon and will be my second return.

The side mounting plates' edges were not finished before plating. There were metal burrs that should be ground away before plating. How long would it take to grind the burrs away, maybe, five minutes at the most. The metal burrs caused a small cut on my finger, not to mention the possible tearing of pants on the passenger getting on and off the bike.

The only issue sis the luggage rack. The holes are a little off. To get luggage rack level to ground, you must enlarge holes a little. I used a sabre saw with a metal cutting blade. I made a cardboard pattern first. Other than that , it all good especially for the price.

Do NOT like the sharp edges!

This backrest works great it comes disassembled so it takes a few minutes to put together and line up but pretty straightforward.The back pad is mediocre quality but it does the job. The whole thing looks and works great. Having two people to install and put together would have been helpful it was a bit difficult installing with just me. Fit my 01 V-Star perfect

The back padding came off within a week. It is not a good quality padding, specially where the screws goes.Once the screws are off, its no good. All you can have is the steel bars.

So far works great, install/assembly wasn't hard to figure out.I could not reinstall a strap that uses the front two bolts cause the sissy bar didn't have the required notches in the screw wholes but meh the strap was just for the passenger to hold on too.The stitching is torn at the back seam of the backrest padding but other then that looks great and delivery was really really fast

Item purchased for a 2010 vstar classic. Fits great and simple to install. I can see the welds under the luggage rack so what you can’t see isn’t as “clean” as an oem item however for a 1/4 of the price I can assure you I’ll continue to order parts from this seller.The seller responded immediately to all my concerns and shipping arrived on the early end of the delivery schedule.I’m very satisfied as is my passenger who is using the backrest, I can’t say for myself that I’ve sat back there.

The product fit & finish met expectations. The problem encountered was not enough packaging inside the box for the loose metal parts to break the box open in-transit. When received the bag of mounting hardware was missing.I had to purchase my own nuts, bolts, washers, and screws to assemble the product.

Great value for your money. I had to modify it a bit to fit my Triumph but I'm a happy biker and now my wife won't fall off at the line. Five stars for the money.
