Curt quality, excellent finish- fit JL Perfectly
First and foremost I am a mechanic and I am not in the business of installing trailer hitches but I found this one very easy to install. I have three tools total to install this trailer hitch. It took me about 15 minutes doing it on my back and I did not have to lower the exhaust or enlarge any holes. I did however reuse the two outer bolts because they had a welded nut already attached. I cannot say whether the OEM bolts are okay for the application but my little trailer is just to pull a lawn mower. If I had to remove that plate and get the welding nut off it would have added much more time but the bolts are very big and I would say that it is okay for the application.

Typical Curt High Quality, Fit My 2019 JL Wrangler Perfectly
I just installed this hitch on my 2019 Wrangler Sport S, 2 door, V6, manual transmission. The quality of this hitch is excellent, typical of my experience with Curt products. Very nice welds and a great powder coat finish. On my Jeep, it was a very tight fit around the chassis crossmember, requiring me to push the hitch up with a floor jack and using a big dead blow hammer for precision adjustments. I don't consider the tight fit to be a negative, since I think that more snug is better than loose. The bolts all passed through the frame holes easily, except for one which was a bit tight. I did not have to enlarge the hole, however, I just "threaded" the bolt into the hole and it went all the way through without any problems, Speaking of bolts, I was impressed that Curt provided high strength Grade 8 bolts that are yellow (gold) zinc plated. Many hitches come with Grade 5 bolts, which are adequate, but stronger is always better. I did not need to drop the muffler to install the hitch as indicated in the instructions. It was very tight getting a torque wrench on the bolt heads, however. The only issue I had was when I first opened the box and examined the contents. There is a poly bag with the hitch that contains the hardware (4 each of bolts, flange locknuts, and flat washers) plus instructions. When I opened the bag, I saw that the seal on one end was not completely closed, causing one of the flat washers to be missing from the bag. I checked under the box bottom flaps and found it there, so no big deal. If you are looking for a hitch for your 2018-2019 Wrangler JL, this is the one for you.

CURT Hitch Review: A Jeep Wrangler, a Man Named Curt, and the Sticker That Never Was
As a Jeep Wrangler owner named Curt, buying the **CURT 13392 Class 3 Trailer Hitch** felt like destiny. Like Thor finding Mjölnir. Like Mario finding a mushroom. Like a bald eagle finding a freedom-flavored Slim Jim. I imagined the moment: me, Curt, installing the CURT hitch on my Wrangler while shirtless in a thunderstorm, lightning crackling, neighbors weeping from the sheer masculinity of it all. I even had a playlist ready—just 12 hours of “Eye of the Tiger” on loop. Installation? Flawless. This hitch is a **unit**. It bolted onto my Jeep like it had been waiting its whole life to be there. I towed a trailer full of bricks, a canoe, and one time, a suspiciously heavy antique dresser I bought off Craigslist. Not a creak. Not a wobble. This thing is so solid, I think it might be holding *me* together emotionally. But then… the betrayal. No orange CURT sticker. I searched the box. I searched my soul. I even checked under the dog. Nothing. Just a cold, stickerless void where my identity should’ve been. I had dreams of slapping that sticker on my Jeep and driving into the sunset, people pointing and whispering, “There goes Curt… with a CURT.” Instead, I was left with a great hitch and a gaping emotional wound. I’ve since started a support group: **“CURTless But Not Hopeless.”** We meet Thursdays. There’s punch. So yes, five stars for performance, minus one for the sticker-shaped hole in my heart. CURT, if you’re reading this, send the sticker. Or at least a hug.

Not quite what others say
Pros: sturdy construction and parts, high quality, $75 DIY vs. $215+tax installed at an automotive shop Cons: Install not as straight forward as many other reviews made it sound, my Thule bike rack doesn't fit without a hitch extender (another $50) as the release lever smacks the mud tire on the tail gate which prevented it from inserting fully into the tongue of the hitch Just about every review said this was a simple 20 minute install. It doesn't take much skill, but it's not as simple as throwing in four bolts and off you go. This install took me 45 minutes, and I'm fairly handy. For my 2018 Unlimited Sahara once I got under the vehicle to start the install I found a plate on the frame with two factory bolts. You have to take the bolts out that attach this plate to the frame and two more bolts that hook it into the plastic bumper and loosen this plate. THEN you slide this new hitch up onto the frame and wedge it between the plate and frame. This took several whacks with a hammer to get it up there. I had to bolt up one side and then hammer the other side up onto the frame again. The bolts go in at an awkward position but it's definitely possible to do without dropping the muffler, just some awkward positioning. No need to enlarge the wholes, just need to use the two original factory bolts on the outside holes and two new bolts for the inside holes. Again, not a whole lot of skill required here, and anyone can do it as long as you know how to use a wrench and a ratchet. Also beware that a hitch extender may be necessary dependent upon your accessory.

Slam dunk, perfect
Hard glossy finish, should not rust for a long time. Installed easily on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler. I used a socket wrench, torque wrench, pry bar, and rubber mallet for alignment.

Good quality hitch installed on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JLU 4 door. Was installed to be able to use a 2 stall bike rack for electric bikes. Came with all the necessary hardware and instructions. Small issue with having to file down some welding slag on the Jeep frame as this hitch is a very tight on the Jeep frame. Used a car jack to lift into place and then tightened the bolts. Used 2 of the factory bolts and 2 of the supplied bolts. No wiring harness is included with the hitch so that will have to be ordered separately. Would recommend for use on your Jeep as it seems like a very strong and durable hitch.

Top quality, perfect fit

Excelente calidad.

Apart from removing the two existing factory torqued bumper bolts, easy installation and perfect fit. Lines up even with the rear tow hook, and flush with the bumper. My Thule bike carrier goes in easily, with no need for a hitch extender to clear the spare tire. Good quality welds and paint coats, solid construction .. you get what you pay for!
