It comes with a factory glued gasket and the gasket is what holds the flaps in the closed position, unfortunately the gasket wasnt glued properly and got displaced soon as exhaust was used, causing the flaps to not seal properly. It had one job and it failed at it, relying on a poorly glued gasket to limit the flaps os not a good idea. Need to install own gasket and or limit the travel of the flapa

Works well, makes a tight seal, no tapping sound when the flaps close, a little undersized for 8 in hvac. But not so much that some hvac tape couldn't seal it. Easy to install. Seems like it will hold up for a long time. Decent damper for the price.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I had to replace the fan on my kitchen vent. There was no damper on the original vent so air just came in and out at will. Not good. This fit my 8 inch vent perfectly. When I turn on the fan I installed, it opens up perfectly. Highly recommend.

I bought a vent for my kitchen but ti didn't come with a air flow stopper. I bought this 10 inch valve flow stopper i installed it and it worked like a charm
