I use Rigid Gas Permeable lenses and I have been used to removing them by using the harder rubber plungers. These pricey silicon ones always take the lenses gently from my eyes with a minimum of pressure, but they use the suction method (you have to gently squeeze this silicone type, and it grabs the lens that way). Takes a couple of uses to get the hang of it, if you're used to the hard type. So far I love the gentle "take off." Swear to gawd, the hard rubber ones would invariably create an audible "POIT" as I took out my lenses, feeling sinuses move clear back in my brain. These don't do that at all. I find these slightly harder to remove from their protective case, but that's the only downside. I will update this review when I see how long these live. The hard rubber type will each last well over two years.
