Great budget gaming laptop
The machine is pretty high powered and plays all my games with ease - these days it's mostly Overwatch and TLOU (lol). The fan is SUPER loud but I always use headphones, so it doesn't bother me. The laptop can get pretty hot while gaming, so I'd recommend investing in a quality cooling pad. Overall, I recommend this especially for the price.

good value for money
After my predator helios lasting me nearly 6 years I had to go back to acer. Quite surprised how well it's built. Wish it had a bigger RAM but I was able to install one after getting it. It does get loud during gaming but not as hot as I thought the keyboard would get as is usual with gaming laptops. very satisfied so far and so very light weight at least compared to what I'm used to.

This is our second laptop that we have bought same brand and style. We love the way it works and can be used for both work and gaming.

Nice little budget gaming laptop
Before we start, let's make some things clear.1. This is a gaming laptop. That means it is built for performance over economy. If you're looking for a long battery life, you're looking at the wrong category of laptops.2. This is a very affordable gaming laptop. By affordable, I mean it has the specs to run most games just fine with basic settings. It is not going to get you amazing framerates on graphics-intensive games with the graphics settings cranked up, the hardware just isn't that powerful.3. Gaming laptops get hot. Performance in a computer comes at the cost of heat. Laptops are harder to keep cool than your average desktop just due to the lack of physical space they have to circulate air. So if you try to use this as an actual laptop and put it on your lap, it's not going to be very comfortable as there will be some really hot air blowing right on you. I would strongly advise that you use this on a hard flat surface so the air vents on the bottom have clearance to draw in air. In fact, I would further recommend a cooling pad to increase the ventilation to extend the lifespan of the components. You can also expect the power supply brick to get mighty hot as well. Make sure you don't cover it with something so it can dissipate that heat.OK, with that being said, let's talk about this computer specifically. It looks pretty sharp, the design on the lid is pretty cool. The keyboard is pretty standard, and there are a good amount of ports. It even has an actual Ethernet port for anyone who wants to be wired in instead of being on the wifi.Acer is well-known for making solid budget gaming machines that provide a relatively good bang for your buck. This is no exception. The performance is decent, especially for the price. The case is plastic and probably wouldn't stand up to a lot of abuse, but that's typically not an issue for gaming laptops. This isn't the device you typically slam into a backpack and drag through classrooms or stuff in a locker. The specs are pretty good. An i7 for a processor is better than average for a laptop in this price range. The graphics card is the GeForce RTX 4050, which is kind of the lower end of mid-range but certainly good enough to play most anything if you're willing to tone down the graphics on the more demanding games. 16GB of RAM is pretty standard and should suffice for most gaming needs. The 1TB SSD is pretty nice and bigger than many at this price point. This should give plenty of space to install games and store files. All in all, I would say this is perfect for a beginner or a gamer on a budget as you get a decent amount of performance relative to the price. Just make sure you treat it correctly.

Good budget gaming laptop. Better than I expected for the price!
When it comes to gaming, I generally stay away from laptops as the heat and dust build up over time kill the life of the laptop but I got this to replace an older one that didn't have upgradeable RAM. For the price, it's a pretty good deal especially in a laptop.I normally do a clean Windows install, but for this I didn't and just tried to remove as much bloatware as possible. I noticed the mcafee made the laptop freeze a handful of times when I first started using it. Once I uninstalled that, I had zero issues.Keyboard is decent, but I have yet to find a laptop keyboard I liked. The fans like to run on this even when just using it for regular web browsing but there are options for it to run more quietly.Screen is pretty clear and has a higher refresh rate for those looking to game or just some eye relief. it's comfortable on the eyes and the colors are not too vivid, but good. The angle of the display won't go a flat 180, but I noticed that the further back you push it, the tiny rubber feet catch it and help angle up the keyboard as well bringing it back a good amount. It comes with a good number of ports for different connectivity. Using a 100w PD charger kept saying it was charging slow even though the description page and manual says 65w PD charging. Not sure what's up with that but the laptop does charge even though it says slow charging. With 16GB of RAM and 1TB pcie4, processing should be a breeze and there's plenty of storage to go around. It's not the lightest laptop with the specs it has, so I might not take it around as much, but hopefully this will last a few years for when I do need to bring it around.

Solid mid-budget gaming laptop
There's a lot to like about this laptop. For one, it gives you some real gaming capability for under $1000. The backlit keyboard is nice. The display is clean and sharp and bright. As a budget laptop, it does have some drawbacks. The battery life isn't great depending on what you're doing, and the fans are kind of loud. I bought a similar spec laptop from ASUS about two years ago - it was about $1700 back then. The ASUS has a metal housing which feels more substantial than this one, but then again the ASUS also weighs more.
