My 9 years old black lab rescue (just under 90 lbs) is still learning to walk nice, he is getting better, it has not been 3 weeks yet. This leash is really great because it is super strong, has the doggy bags attached, and also a light that you affix to it once you open the package. Pay attention to how they tell you to put the three little batteries (round) in. I added a bear bell to the handle because we live in the Yukon in a small community and are surrounded by wilderness. Once I reach the trails and know that no one is there early morning, I am able to let him go all the way on his leash which gives him a sense of freedom. This is a highly recommended purchase.

I like this leash. The 26 ft length is perfect for my dog to explore a bit and still be under control. The only negative thing that I found is the weight. It is a bit on the heavier side. It is well made and works well.

This turns out to be toooo big for hand to hold comfortably. My hands are already on the larger side of normal person. But since I used it already, I did not want to get into returning disputes with seller. Update: After using it for one and half month, I gave up. It is getting harder and harder to switch between lock and unlock modes. I have stronger hand but each time it hurts to lock and unlock. I will try to return it see if seller Update: Seller shipped a new one for me to try. I am grateful for the gesture to resolve the issue. Will be trying.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Love! My 5 month old golden retriever puppy chews on everything! He chewed through his last leash so I thought this one was a great idea with the steel cable at the bottom. It's perfect! We can remove that segment when he stops teething. I love the integrated poop bags. It's sturdy and comfortable to hold. The length of the leash is perfect and the 'brake' mechanism works perfectly every time. I haven't attached the light so I can't comment on its brightness.
