Tree of Life Pocket Lighter

I really love this lighter. The tree of life is always something I’m fascinated with.But word of warning. I did buy this directly from amazon, I also bought the holster along with it so I could protect it from getting scratched with whatever is in my pocket.Within about 3 weeks the finish started coming off. Now I don’t mind it too much. In fact it makes the tree of life stand out more, plus I think I’ll like it better in the long run because it will get a natural patina on it instead of a shiny artificial one. Which again I like flat or dull colors. So this works for me.But for those that want the finish exactly the way it comes with, don’t expect it to last.

I liked the coating they used on the Antique Brass Zippo, however, I love the actual brass metal underneath. As a force of habit, I was rubbing the sides of the lighter after use and noticed that the coating easily fell away.I removed the insert and used a small scrubbing pad to remove the coating which was peeling off and ended up with a very appealing Zippo with the engraved Tree of Life still there but now the natural brass was exposed. 4 stars for the peeling coating but fortunately the metal underneath is way better.

I had gotten a necklace just like this for my girlfriend about 5 years ago. She died, but when I saw this, I sent for it right away, and it feels like I have a little reminder of her with me all the time. It's meaningful, and appropriate for a man or a woman, in my opinion. And it's a Zippo, so it will last forever, or they'll fix it for you.

If prefer to give this 4.5 stars but the issue with the finish is just too awful to give this 5 stars. I seriously don't care, the lighter actually looks cooler as it gets more beat up, but the paint comes off in seriously 3 weeks in a pocket. I keep nothing else in that pocket and a month later it's just a brass lighter with a cool design on it. I think If it were just sold as brass Id give it 5 stars, it's like the paint is meant to come off

I have to admit, I’m slightly disappointed. On the one hand, I love the way it looks, sounds, and feels, not so much on performance. Windproof it is not, part of this is my inexperience with this style of lighter, part of it is my unrealistic expectation that the wind will never prevent the lighter from lightning. I imagine it will work better over time as well, I’m very happy with it but not in love with it. Let’s just say I’m still keeping a Bic handy as a backup.

I tried to take pictures of the lighter as many as it’s needed to give the understanding that the lighter is worth the price. Yes, the lighter is pricy however it’s well made I like the print and it’s easy to make some tricks with it all in all it’s a good product for a good price.

Great Zippo but the hinge came a little loose and has a bit of play. Closes all the way but may have some accelerated evaporation from the hinge. You can always send it in to Zippo for free for repairs.

I really like the design of this lighter. It is my second Zippo.The only negative is that it comes with an orange safety sticker on the back, sealing the lighter shut. This sticker was unnecessarily sticky and hard to remove. It left a lot of sticky residue on the back. The clear coat finish was ruined in the process of removing the glue. Yes, the lighter will develop wear over time anyway, but still, this was disappointing for the first 5 minutes of owning it.

Can't beat a Zippo. Fantastic. If you want a lighter that is windproof and easily refillable and easy to replace the flints, you need a Zippo. I'm on about my 4th Zippo as I keep giving them away to friends, or losing them!If I can light my cigarette with a Zippo in the windy Scottish highlands, I can light it anywhere. If there was 6 stars to give, I'd give that.In the past I've been given many lighters as presents, but apart from Zippo they just don't work. Just don't buy anything else.

it's a very nice lighter, easy to use, but the hinge was loose (don't know if it's supposed to be) and the finish has started wearing off and it's only been a week which is a bummer

Genuine Zippo with the reassuring Zippo weight. Secure lid and hinge so it sits as flush as it should. The aged brass effect is very pleasant with a smooth finish. The tree of life design is etched into the casing so will remain crisp and clear for the duration. Comes with flint and wick ready to go, just add some fluid and you're all set.Was very obviously new and unused and lights first time, every time.Used outside in fairly strong winds with minimal fuss so all in all, you just can't beat a Zippo for quality or style.

Had my eye on this for a while. Love the detail and I like trees, the wee Zippo flame at the bottom of the roots is cool. It's my first antique brass Zippo and I'm left to wonder how it's going to look when the brass starts to oxidize. All plain brass Zippo lighters are coated in something that prevents oxidization, not sure what they use but whatever it is it comes off quickly with human contact, this is why brass lighters can be boxed and in the shop for years without oxidizing. I have my suspicions this is covered in something else to prevent the brass oxidizing further but not sure. If this lighter starts to look a million years old I'll update the review.

Quality lighter from Zippo which should last at least one life time.......good price and looks the part too!I anticipate that the Tree of Life Lighter from Zippo will become an all time favourite. I like it and heck I do not smoke!
