I buy these to keep my bread from turning blue. For some reason in the spring/summer/fall we get really humid at times and it seems to cause mold very quickly in bread products. So I started buying these Silica Gel packs and they seem to keep the bread fresh until we finish it.

I purchased this with the intent to add a pack or 2 to "canned" shredded parmesan/romano cheese in order to keep it from clumping. Duh. The pack actually acted as a large clump and likewise blocked flow. SO the silica packettes have been repurposed within the pantry to help keep it moisture free. I'm good with that.

It's humid here in KY. I put one of these in my salt container, and the garlic powder & onion powder containers, and the lumps disappeared like magic. Keeping these on hand for next summer's humidity wave.

These silica packets are the perfect for storing electronics in their original packaging. Currently using them to protect long-term storage hard-drives. The resealable package closes properly and securely. No complaints.
