How it worked!
Update- my ceiling sanding is done, using this sander and a stand device I built to hold it for overhead work. The old ceilings had pull-textured plaster, which leaves blades of plaster hanging down 1/2 inch or more, and of course, had been painted. Looked like the bat-cave.The objective was to sand it down to the point of looking like a knock-down texture, which would have elevation differences of about 1/8".The lift stand was built with an office chair rolling base, a piece of conduit, and some PVC pipe, lifted with a pneumatic cylinder so as to have an adjustable weight effect for the operator. We set it at about zero when in contact with the ceiling so that a little lift up or down by hand would engage or disengage work.A similar and simpler approach could be done with springs instead of pneumatics. Both tool and lift worked very well. One man sanded a thousand square feet of ceiling- in three hours. I had expected this to take more like 10-12 hours, be very tiring and very dirty work.We didn't rely on the built-in vacuum alone, we attached a strong shop vac, and to my surprise, the work went very cleanly, so the internal dust collection worked well. No tool problems, did not wear paper down fast, worked right up to wall edges- left only small arcs in inside corners as the only place hand work was required.Overall, this was an excellent tool investment, even if I never use it again. It is the only such tool I've ever owned, and even though I've been a professional homebuilder, this is something new. I can't say how this brand compares to others; I can say- zero complaints. Marvelous tool.My earlier review-This machine is pretty well described. I'm renovating a house that had to have several layers of wall paper removed and we will have to skim coat the walls to restore the drywall surface. It also has a old fashioned coarse texture on the ceilings, which we want to sand down to create a more modern knock-down look.Wall sanding goes well. Definitely need to attach a separate vac system for dust control. One issue here is the the provided adapters would not work with a Dewalt Shop-vac, I fabricated one form PVC fittings.Sanding the ceiling is much different, because you are holding the full weight right over your head. Rapidly wears you down and I have an entire house to sand that way. So- I'm constructing a device to help. Using a swivel chair base, some EMT pipe and PVC tube with a balancing lift system, I should be able to roll the machine across the floor and control the contact pressure with a very low manual force. That's not in operation yet, I will try to post a review later of how well it works and how effective the sander is when used with it. This need would seem to be true of all the wall sanders, with the exception of one I found whose design is far superior to the normal type, with a price that is also far superior.Given the low cost and the way the machine works, I think I picked the best one available on Amazon for my purposes.

It works
It came in yesterday and I was anxious to try it. As usual with Chinese junk you have to look at pictures or watch videos to see how something is assembled. So, between the skimpy directions, pictures and videos I did get most of it together to the point of functionality, otherwise I just used electric tape, a near cure all for connecting most things.Having taped and mudded up four long seams and cross seams in my new living room for my large addition, I tried it out. First I just climbed up on a ladder and reached out with it and it did a pretty good job. One bad thing is that if you get the grinding pad on the drywall it will start eating paper off. I suppose I'll have to feather out the edges by hand to avoid that. After doing a couple feet of a seam, I decided to try it from the standing position on the floor and actually it was not too bad, seemed to be less strain holding it straight up. I did another couple feet and then the suction hose at the vacuum motor built onto the head came loose and started spewing copious amounts of dust. Bummer. So, I quit for the day, have a family gathering this afternoon to further celebrate the 4th. I just wanted to give it a quick try to see if it works. No doubt, it should really be great for wall seams. I'll fix the loose hose tomorrow or MOnday and get down to serious work with it. I also believe that I will end up connecting it to my shop vac.I figure it this way, it doesn't cost much more than an orbital sander which we know works, just lots of dust to deal with and this thing wasn't very dusty till the hose came loose. Plus you can reach the ceiling with it and it definitely beats hand sanding. If you go slow enough it also seems to do an adequate job of sanding with just one pass. It came with several size of grit sand paper, I was using the 120.I'm optimistic that it was worth the money. If I end up being wrong I'll come back and revise my comment.Update several days later. The thing really works very well. I stand and keep up pressure with on arm and guide with the other. I just used the bag that came with it and didn't connect to my shop vac.A tip, when you're done with a certain segment barely lower the head from the ceiling and give it a change to suck up more dust.I'm happy with it and can't wait to try it on walls.

Worthe the cost.
I love this product. I have used it on wood floors, walls, and ceilings. It is heavy, but that is clear when you purchase the sander. However, the adjustable handle and LED light features are super helpful. You can also use the handle on the sander body itself. I have a shop vac attached, and it works very well. I have NOT had to do any heavy cleaning or had large amounts of dust around the sander, as I saw in some videos online. I lightly vacuum the holes on the velcro pad out after use. The sanding capacity and adjustable speed make the jobs be completed quickly and efficiently. The value of the time saved and ease of use are worth the extra money spent on the product for my small home overhaul.

Disappointed Customer - Please read my comments
It would be generous to say that I had 30 hours on the sander. Unfortunately, the motor drive mechanism for the sander burnt out. Since I missed the return Amazon date by 1 month, I decided to reach out to the retailer using the Amazon website for the customer service contact. Well, the email that I sent to the listed customer service address "bounced back" ... no such email address for the retailer. Consequently, I would avoid buying this sander brand and pick some other retailer. On another note, when it was working - the built in vacuum cleaner did a poor job keeping the dust down. I ended up buying another brand from a local retailer that required a separate vacuum setup. There is no comparison regarding the amount of dust that it captures with the separate vacuum. Thus, I would recommend staying away from the ones that come with a vacuum & bag. Yes, you will frequently have to shake out the vacuum's filter; but, it will do a much better job keeping the dust down while you are working.
