I sing in a band and most of the time, late nights is the only free time I have to rehearse. This helps a lot not to bother my housemates. It is surprisingly small yet so effective. It is unbelievable.

This vocal dampener is a bit of a toy, but it could come in handy if you're in a dorm or apartment and need to belt out some notes without disturbing your neighbors. It’s a great option if you need to sing loudly but want to keep the noise level down. It comes in two parts, and the inner piece can be washed for hygiene. If I needed a way to sing loudly without disturbing others, this would be a perfect solution. However, the experience isn’t entirely organic. Adding a strap to keep it in place while freeing your hands would make it feel much more practical for extended use. ✨ Pros: Ideal for Performers 🎭: Perfect for singers, actors, or anyone who needs to practice vocal techniques without causing a racket. Compact & Portable 👜: Light enough to take anywhere, making it easy to carry for those on the go. Effective Soundproofing 🔇: Reduces noise by up to 30 decibels, ensuring your vocal practice stays private. Ergonomic Design 💆♂️: Provides a snug fit for various face shapes, ensuring comfort during use. ⚠️ Cons: Not Organic 🤖: The design feels a bit unnatural, and it may take time to get used to. No Hands-Free Option 🙆♂️: A strap to secure it would make the device feel more practical for longer use. 💡 Bottom Line: If you’re in need of a vocal dampener that balances practicality with noise reduction, this could be a great choice. However, some improvements in comfort and functionality would make it a perfect accessory for performers. 🎤**

I’m liking the design. If you pull out the foam piece, and put it in upside down, it allows for some blow by and less pressure, or if you want the pressure, you can keep it as is. I have used a number of different designs on products to aid in singing and breath control, and I really like this one. It’s just easy and effective, plus it’s not very expensive so it’s a win. Why does this work? It’s like singing into a wet towel if the inset is turned one way, or singing into a glass pressed onto your face when the inset is turned the opposite way. I remember as a teen watching singers warm up for rock bands using the wet towel method, this is a similar feel, and it does work. Don’t let negative reviews fool you on this, it took a half a second to figure it out, it’s a no brainer and I use it. Especially on cooler temp days, and early mornings, and allergy days, or times when I just want to work on range improvement, it’s a great tool to warm up with for singing or speaking.

I like it, a lot, and it works as designed but WARNING to anyone sensitive to smells: The off-gassing is very bad! I’ve got asthma and, sadly, it triggers it! It also gives me terrible headaches! Ugh! So frustrated! I’ve scrubbed it with soap and let it set in the open and, days later, it still gags me! UPDATE: I’m still hopeful this will go away but it’s been nearly a week and I can only sit through a few minutes at a time with my inhaler next to me! IT IS A LITTLE WEAKER IN SMELL but whatever this chemical is, it should be banned iMO! Disappointed, but still giving 4 stars for the design and function! Eventually I should be able to use it long term, right? Well, I’m crossing my fingers!
