Best ink
I only use fountain pens to write with. For me, they are easier than the ball point pens. I love the way the ink flows and how easy it is to write with a fountain pen. I own Mont Blanc and Waterman pens. The ink is the best. No clogging. Smooth flowing out of the nib. Follow the instructions on how to fill your device for the best results but do keep your pen clean. The ink has a beautiful blue color to it. It stands out from the from the 'normal' blue and black ink. For the quality and amount of ink, it is a great buy. I won't buy any other brand of ink for my fountain pens. I have been using this brand it seems like forever. My first Mont Blanc was over 50 years ago. The color is a very refreshingly bright, colorful and lets your words stand out. For me there is no other ink worthy of being used in my fountain pens or to express my written words.

A Safe Classic: An Essential Blue
The Waterman Serenity Blue fountain pen ink is a phenomenal option if you’re looking for a traditional ink that works on almost every paper, is conservative in style, and stands out against a black legal document. We aren’t filling out the United States Census by hand anymore, nor sitting in law offices underlining legal documents, but the blue ink works fantastically for students or professors grading assignments who want something classic with a playful touch. The Waterman Serenity is a heritage ink, especially with vintage American or Western European fountain pens. Waterman is a brand acquired by a French company but retains mid-century American production standards, clearly seen in their unchanged ink formula. It works phenomenally in my Parker 51, as shown in my short demonstration on Rhodia paper. I highly recommend this fountain pen ink as a first buy. Couple it with a black Pelikan 4001 inkwell for your first two fountain pen colors. Instead of buying top-line ink from Pilot, these classics are a better “safe” choice. They have been tried and tested for nearly a centennial and deliver excellent performance. This ink also works exceptionally well in the Waterman 52, as expected, since both come from the same company. Even if you already own another blue ink, this one is worth trying. Waterman Serenity Blue strikes the perfect balance of blue—not too dark, not too light, not obnoxious. It’s a safe option that’s more playful than basic ballpoint blue, with visible shading in certain letterforms, acting precisely as a dry-wet ink should. Overall, this is a great ink. Enjoy your fountain pens, don’t buy too many at once, and savor the inks you love. Even if you have many pens, give this basic blue a try—you haven’t lived until you’ve used one. Thank you very much.

Excellent ink.
This ink flows well and has a beautiful darker blue color. It is darker than Parker blue, which can seem to be washed out at times. It is a wet ink with good flow. I dries quickly and I haven't had problems with smears. If you're left handed, YMMV. Overall a great ink.

Best true blue ink
Beautiful blue ink that leans towards indigo (like ballpoint pens). I was looking for an ink that is similar to baystate blue because I did not want to support that brand. Out of all the blue inks I have tried this is the closest one and even though it’s not waterproof it works well with my highlighters.

Good black ink
This isn't my favorite black ink but it is good. I use it in my Waterman Carene. The quality is good. to me it has some grey in it a little more than I would like. but over all a good quality ink that seems to have a little water resistance once dried. I dont smell anything from it other thank the ink. I do like the bottle design, you can tilt it on its side to help fill pens. That is well thought out. over all it's a good ink for its price.

Works great for me, dip it right in there.
I dip right in the well, and this works great. Good ink, flows well, harder to find a good nib. No problem filling inserts if you like.

Solid Choice!
Waterman inks are known for their reliability. It's a solid choice for any fountain pen enthusiast, but especially for new users who will benefit from a well-behaved ink. Although there's not a lot, you can see shading and even sheen with the right nib and the right paper. Well lubricated, it writes smooth and consistently. And the color is just a very serene blue. Highly recommended.

Most beautiful blue ink!
I've been using fountain pens for decades, and tried countless inks. Even though I don't use Waterman fountain pens, their Serenity Blue ink is the one I always come back to. Beyond its quality, there is something genuinely calming about this color. Perhaps that's why they named it Serenity?
